Just a load of greedy ba stards. Look at the ages of the players . One last bumper contrast and settling down time. No ambition.
I do'nt care about the champions league I have not watched any game. For me the best competition is the premier league. La Liga, Serie A are one of the most boring leagues out there. I want to see games between Liverpool,City, Spurs, Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton.
i get that, but who can blame them really?
i don't. i've actually been to china and its some experience.
you would have to ask me twice about giving me a tonne of cash and a new expereince.
thats the dilema these players have.
reports are saying Gervihno is on 83K a game plus a basic wage.
for messi and Ronaldo these guys are earning a mill a week then you deduct tax and management fees etc. they walk away with 350-500k a week easy

Haha you at it
They'll grow for sure but I suspect they'll always be a massive gulf in class between the best and worst players in most teams.
I'd be more worried about having PL fixtures moved out there like some sort of road show like the NFL game at Wembley.

May be evenualky inevitable. But I'd would be interesting to see a truely global international club tournament. UEFA have tweaked the champions league to favour the rich, so you'd expect if enough noise is made in China etc they'd have take notice.
A number of issues stand in the way. Travel, think of the journeys to play intercontinental footy. Unworkable when teams have to compete in domestic leagues. Fans travel. Top 4 league greed/UEFA greed, it's a big cash cow, taken a while to get tithe level now, they wouldn't risk it. Even with an influx of the very best players, they'd still wait a long time before considering a global league/tournament. But, the money that the big clubs in the premiership generate in overseas markets will dearf what's generated locally in terms of merchandise.....
The idea of a club world cup is a nice one but obviously it would clash with the international tournaments. The euros and copa america and other continental tournaments would have to take place in the same summer for it to work and in that case you could have a club world cup every other summer. Maybe it wouldn't be best for the fans though as having all the continental tournaments at the same time means fans can't really enjoy them all.
The other issue is that with a club world cup every other summer then that means that the players involved would never get a summer off. Imagine playing the euros in 2016, club world cup 2017, world cup 2018 and club world cup 2019.. If you were a premier league player then you would basically have no time off. A winter break could obviously prevent this from being as much of an issue but again with a premier league winter break then the fans would suffer as they wouldn't get to enjoy the massive amount of football that we're going to in the next few weeks..

How have uefa tweaked the champions league to favour the rich? The travel wouldn't be an issue if it was just a summer tournament in the same country like the world cup

Allowing top 4 clubs from big nations places, etc. It's not the European cup it once was, for champions. It's the rich leagues cup.

The Gufis played very badly today, but we fluked a last gasp pen to win 1-0 . . . against the bottom team
Anybody know any Chinese players in the China Super League?
