It has been our consistency against the teams below the top 6 that has got us top.
As log as we keep knocking those over it wont matter if we lose points to Liverpool and Arsenal as the other teams have a habit of dropping points.
Also if I was a betting man I would put my house on Man U winning the title next year.

Everything starts to change now, teams become more desperate for points and the chance of upsets will increase.
Consistency is the key, we need a run in like in 2015, it doesnt have to be pretty.

If we (Spurs) didn't have Europe to worry about I think we could win the title this season. Our first 14-15 players are as good as any in this league; quality keeper backed up by a granite defence and quality DM's, some good attacking midfielders and an excellent striker. Few weaknesses in the squad for sure but we are close. But I think when Europe kicks back in we wil struggle to maintain our charge, similarly to last season, and Chelsea will probably win a closely fought battle with Liverpool. Utd to get top 4, Spurs and Arsenal to battle it out for 4th, think city will fade away and focus on the CL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ace, do you think you ran of steam a bit last year?
Is it likely to happpen again, or is Poch trying to rotate his players more this year?
Very much Chelseas to lose still.
Personally think that Spurs will be their biggest challengers from here but they have a few tough trips coming too away to us and City. Arsenal are perennial bottlers and City aren't good enough.
We will fall away this month without Mane but still think we will get top four if we keep players fit.
Decent summary I think.
I'm surprised that City have received so much stick lately though. They have not been playing that well but equally they haven't been dropping too many points either. It always concerns me when a team keeps winning even during their poor run of form.
They dropped points against Liverpool, Chelsea and Leicester (which any team could tbf) but have been pretty consistent against the rest.
It is so changeable this season I would not like to predict what I think will happen. As a case in point, we looked like we would never win a game again 2 months back or so, now we look like we will never get beaten.
Chelsea transformed from average to juggernaut overnight. United are in a similar, less extreme boat. Arsenal looked like they were motoring, now look a bit soft. Ditto City. Liverpool pretty consistent, but being chipped away at by the chasers.
Gun to head....
My gut says Chelsea will win the league, simply because of the points on the board.
It also says that the Manchester clubs will miss out on top 4.
I would not be wholly surprised if any of the top 6 won the thing though, and the rest finished in any other order.
It is a fantastic season though in that regard, it is just a shame the rest of the league are such easy prey
Chelsea's to lose but from a City perspective, we've been here before - Out of it in January, clinched it on the last day of the season.
Too many games still to play to say its Chelsea's to lose.
If any team can put a 13 game run together like we just did from here I would expect them to be top after that.
Biggish, i have been thinking. If we get 3 points this weekend and Pool/Utd draw? That offsets the loss of points against Spurs.
I always hope for the title, but I'm still expecting Top 4 (especially if Alonso stays at left wing back)

That would be a good outcome for us if we could go to Anfield with a 7 point lead, but Leicester will be a tough game for us.
Lets be honest,a lot of people were almost giving the title to City after half a dozen games.

That doesn't happen often though. One more win would be a record I think?
We have just won 9 in a row in all comps and I believe that is our best run of form for about 8 years or something like that.
Us beating Liverpool doesn't put us back in the title race if you beat Leicester. It just condenses the top six further. Ten points is a massive gap for us to overturn.

Basically, the next 4 out of 5 league games are very important for Chelsea (barring the hull home game)
If you get 8-10 points from those you will win the league. Anything less and it will be interesting

The easy prey will get tougher as the season progresses especially those fighting for their lives at the bottom.
Arsenal have the best squad, but no chance of winning it. I think Liverpool and Chelsea will fight it out. I expect utd to stutter once Europe starts.
Whether or not Chelsea are the best side in the league you have a massive advantage. Five points ahead is a great advantage in this league. Two things need to happen for you not to win the league. Chelsea need to mess up and someone needs to put on an incredible run of form.
Saying it's Chelsea's to lose is absolute nonsense. It's a 5 point lead.
Say Chelsea W-L-D and in the same period Liverpool W-W-W (not unlikely by any stretch). That would put Liverpool a point behind.

See I dont get this, If we lose at Anfield and draw with Arsenal its possible we wont even be top on the 4th Feb.
Both results are easily possible and Chelsea dont have to mess anything up.
