Sensationalist reporting by the BBC

In what way is that sensationalist? It's an entirely accurate portrayal of the story. It's not like they referred to it as a scandal, anti-doping regulations obviously have a wide scope. If people can't be bothered to read the first couple of lines of an article it's their own fault for getting carried away.

Well if the club doesn't keep the anti doping up to date then they can't carry out checks to keep the sport clean!

What's to say the club hasn't deliberately not updated the players locations (not saying they have) because they didn't want them to know?

lol stupid op.

The story is obviously inaccurate anyway. Surely they can't mean The Club That Can Do No Wrong.

Sources at the FA and City insist it is not a case of an individual player going “missing” when required for a drugs test – as in the case of former Manchester United and England star Rio Ferdinand in 2004.

Ferdinand claimed he “forgot” to attend the test after training and instead went shopping. He was banned for eight months and missed the FA Cup final and Euro 2004.

First City were rightly convicted of financial doping.

Now, there is an indictment of drug doping.

Dopers inside and outside.

I think it is you who cannot read.

Manchester have been indicted by the FA over anti-doping rules (on three occasions): On one occasion doping officials turned up at City’s training ground to hold random tests with more than one player and were left furious when they were not there. On another occasion they went to a player’s hotel only to find he had checked out and moved into a house.

A spokesman for the FA said last night: “It is alleged the club (City) failed to ensure that their ‘Club Whereabouts’ information was accurate, contrary to Regulation 14(d).”

This is not irresponsible or sensationalist journalism as the OP wrongly opines; it is responsible journalism.

Irresponsible journalism would be one deducing that there is a club-sponspored 'systematic' doping that permeates Manchester city. After all, to miss once is accident, twice maybe a coincidence.

Three times is an incident! Something fishy there.
