He's already done far more than Barkley.
Pretty plain to see the lad is a genuine talent he's ahead of the likes of Scholes, .Gerrard and Lamp are at the same age when you look at his contribution stats.
Brilliant player but you do have a point. A month ago Spurs fans didn't even want him playing, now he's the best midfielder in the country.

He's way better than Barkley. Has Gerrard level potential.
Why is he a brilliant player? What has he done that is brilliant/what are his brilliant attributes?
To me he looks like a lite version of Pogba lite.
Agreed. He has been improving but talks of Barca/Madrid are so stupid.
He's good at what he does, finds space well, instinctive. Use him correctly and he's an asset to your side (will get goals and assists) but in the wrong position/system he'd really frustrate, reckon he'll do better than club for country throughout his career as a result.

He has great movement and has a good shot on him. Those are his main qualities which standout. He can be quite inventive, though most of the time it doesn't work out.
He is a good talent tbh

Hadn't seen this comment before my last.
His movement can be good at times, but doing virtually nothing for 15 games then showing good movement in a couple of games doesn't signify anything special to me

I watch him and I find him really hard to get excited about.
When he was playing cm for Spurs last season I called him Dele Jenas because he just looked like an average footballer but cab really cover the pitch.
Then he got moved away from the middle of the pitch and he's exploded. I still think his midfield skills are average but get him near the box and he's facking effective.
He's more like a second striker than a midfielder. But he's bloody good at what he does, and he's 20 years old.
im a season ticket holder and don't miss a game, he can go missing in games and sometimes technically is not a s good to watch as a coutinho eriksen etc type player, but he is fantastic at finding space and pulling players into areas where they do not want to go, he is def more lampard than a Gerrard. Even in games he is not playing well in he will always have 2 or 3 chances, he has the lampard knack of finding space and being where the ball is
because of this he will score many many goals and affect matches, goals win games
Not as good technically as other attacking midfielder sin the league but his goalscoring record is ridiculous.

I actually think he's more like Rooney (though not as gifted) than he is those other midfielders.
Buzzing around the striker, dropping off, running past to get in the box. That's what I see from Alli and it's more like a second striker like Rooney than Gerrard and Lampard.

watch him every week, nothing like rooney at all, he is improving his all round game, he is only 20 as well, if you get a chance to watch him live you see much more of what his game is about
Thomas Muller is the same. Often looks average in terms of skill and technical ability. Doesn't really have anything special to his game but he's had an amazing career all down to his instinct and awareness.

So basically all I'm hearing that's good about him is movement and stats.
I think Barca look for a bit more than that in their players

I mean he's like Rooney in terms of the positions he takes up on the field. Obviously not the same talent with the ball (I'm talking about young Wayne).
