I saw the match at home and remember festooning the TV in scarves and writing slogans on my pet Dalmation with a marker (pet abuse was acceptable in the 80s). He escaped and a neighbour brought him back and said that hooligans must have had him as they'd drawn all over him .

Did you write the slogans by joining the dots?

I loved football a little less after that night. Probably did more to damage Liverpool that any other single result.

Yeah was gutted, I had just been to first lfc game a week before at Wembley for the cup final

I also shed a tear. Recall my Step Dad who is a massive t..sser (and hated Arsenal) saying ' I can't believe it, I can't believe it!!!!

Even now when I watch it all those years later I get a lump in my throat as I remember how I felt when it happened.

The Aguero thing a couple of years ago was also dramatic but that was against QPR not first against second on the final day.

if the movie is simply told for the arsenal perspective then it is crass and heartless

the context of this match is important to understand and how many game LFC played in the run up to this game as a result of terrible event AND it is important to realise that It was a game where in the end arsenal did what they needed to do but our heads were held high

Yeah totally agree. They would need to touch on Hillsborough, the aftermath and the delay leading up to the game. It's Hollywood though so expect a fast paced film, loud music and drama.

As long as they don't cast Joseph Fiennes as Michael Thomas, it'll be alright.

Wenger would have never pulled it off.

Wenger wouldn't have had to, he would have sewn the league up against Derby and Wimbledon.

What about 1998 when we were 10 points behind Utd or Spurs when they were 8 points clear and 2 goals up against us or Hull in the Cup Final when we were 2-0 down?

Nah surely Nicole Kidman will play Thomas. The likeness is uncanny.

Closest I've ever come to crying in a football stadium.

Amazing game even though we lost the fact it was on a Friday and the whole ground seemed drunk and in party mode was amazing.

Doesn't negate the fact that Wenger was in charge though

Maybe he could have played him IN 1989. Not sure he could carry off a 20-odd yo now.
