I don't think Bernie was that strong a candidate either but he had a broader appeal than Hillary did. She just came with too much baggage. After 8 years of Democratic rule, the Republicans were always more likely to perform better this time round. It always swings back and forth.
I agree that the left's current obsession with social justice causes just helped Trump's campaign. I remember Bill Mayer saying something similar.
The Democrats are in a bit of a predicament now. It will interesting to see the route they go down.

That's definately dodgy as hell. Could have killed people doing that, that's really bad.

Mind, this is coming from a country that is stupid enough to believe that powdered rhino horn etc, are cures for all sorts of diseases, minus the cost to endangered animals. Winds me up.

Don't get me started on the fake medicine that comes out of there!

Kinda ironic that Trump's businesses have imported massively from China as it is much cheaper to do so.

His "make America great again" hats. Made in China...

His property developments also used cheap Chinese steel imports. And utilised cheap Mexican labour.

Just makes you wonder wtf Americans were thinking.

I have spent time there, they are a scary race, almost like robots, all focused and shat, no job is impossible, just throw more bodies at it, brainwashed as hell.

Most dangerous nation on the planet by a huge distance.

Suspect this (civil unrest) will be a reoccurring theme of his presidency.

We live in a time where people will protest until they get what they want. Totally ignoring the people that voted for people in power.

These protesters and remoaners are doing more to undermine democracy then Trump will ever do

posted on 20/1/17

I've been pretty dismayed how the lefties have acted during this campaign, it's OK to protest but to the point of violence, that's a no no

posted on 20/1/17

You don't honestly believe these guys care about the outcome of the election do you?

They are professional rioters basically.

posted on 20/1/17

Some get paid $35-50 an hour to protest, who wouldn't want to do that job? lol

Many are protesting as around 6% of Americans will lose access to healthcare. Tens of thousands of people are going to die.

What would you do if faced with the same situation?

In regard to "remoaners" more often than not, these are people who have an understanding of the consequences of the referendum result. From both sides of the electorate.

Why is there such resistance to obamacare from the electorate? Because working people don't want to pay for healthcare insurance for others . Over here people have woken up to the idle classes and want it stopped that's why labour are defunct.

The affordable care act has it's problems. Like any first drafted piece of legislation. But (as I understand it) there is currently no alternative.

A health system tailored to benefit corporate insurance companies, and the pharmaceutical industry, is not one of a progressive society.

Trumps very first act as president was to make it virtually impossible for the poor to buy their own home (Admin1 had posted a link earlier).

Meanwhile the rich, have been awarded massive tax breaks.
