How do you solve a problem like Emre Can?

Get rid.

Getting rid is too premature imo. He struggles to make an impact when playing against deep lying defences, but in tight away games has been an asset. He's a versatile player who is struggling at the moment.

However, the sooner Lallana is moved back into the midfield three the better. We are a far more balanced team with him operating there.

Seems to be getting called out on some ongoing poor form recently.

I have been impressed with him overall though. I'd take him at Chelsea, reckon he could become a very good wing back.

There was a spell under Rodgers where he played on a back three not too dissimilar to what Chelsea play now and he was brilliant to be fair.

Looks pretty awful in any position where he needs to in a run a substantial amount though.

That's the problem with him IMO. Where does he play?

Brendan gave him a go a CB, and he had his moments but was a liability at times. He's been in midfield and had some decent games when you can see some outrageous ability. But in those same games he's languid and lazy and seems to lose a bit of energy for no apparent reason.

I always judge a new Liverpool midfielder on what's gone before... is he dynamic like Gerrard? No Does he have the technical ability of Alonso? No. Does he infuence the game like Souness? No.

Klopp seems to have total faith in him and frankly it's misplaced IMO. The ultimate player who flatters to deceive.

I think he does flatter to deceive tbh, but tbf Lallana's been like that at times.

Absolutely.

Followed by much complaining of asset stripping, not giving young players a chance and shortsightedness

Yeah, I felt the same about Lallana at the start of his Liverpool career, all style no end product, but he's contributed more and I can see something there. Having said that he missed a great chance against Swansea looking for a worldly.

Possession stats look awesome but we need some players to step up and take the glory. Maybe Klopp has it covered. I hope so.

I don't see Can as much of an asset TBH. So no complaints from me if he goes

Give young players a go if they are good enough by all means but I think we have seen already they are not up to scratch.

We need some decent signings in keeping with the size of the club.

We won't get them under the current ownership and Klopp will come under pressure in the same same way Brendan did.

Just my opinion but there it is.

We spend within our means and within the constrains of FFP.

We don;t have sugar daddy owners nor a bottomless pit of money like the top echelon of clubs. So unless we are bought over by the mega rich, we are indeed left purchasing players that do reflect the size of the club as it stands now.

That his form has dipped would be an understatement. At the Swansea game I was screaming at the TV for Klopp to take him off. Kevin Stewart has played well and deserves a chance. I'd even give Grujic the nod before him, Marco is at least worth a shout.

I'm only interested in players good enough to take the club to the CL and start winning some silverware.

I appreciate what manfrom says as regards to our current owners but the fact remains they are not paupers by any means.

This clubs needs to back the excellent manager we have before he gets fed up and moves on.

He's a young player out of form. A midfield 3 of Hendo, Can and Wij does not work especially against teams who will sit back.

Can is a asset for the club and will come good but for the time being he should be on the bench.

I'd bring ojo in on the right and drop lallana into midfield alongside hendo and wijnaldum.

That would give us a lot more balance, and I think ojo really deserves a crack with studge and origi out of form.

Yep Echo what Kashmir has said really.

I thought he had a decent season last year playing largely in the deeper role.

That role became Hendo's after Can missed the start of the season, and Can has struggled a bit in the role more further forward. He is a goal threat but his decision making and speed of thought are poor.

I think he's more suited to the deeper role now, which I didn't think previously, and with Hendo's heel injury resurfacing perhaps he will get another chance in that position as the season develops.

I think he has suffered from not having a proper pre-season also. Two summers running he has been involved in international tournaments at U21 and then full level, and I think he is feeling the pace mentally and physically.

He needs a good summer break and a full pre-season.

We shouldn't give up on him yet but he should be taken out the firing line. I'd put him on a diet too. Whilst not fat he looks like he could trim down a few pounds and although he can run around his fitness could be improved further as he doesn't often look sharp enough

His form has been poor for sure. But I think people forget how young he is. He just turned 23 last week. Kevin Stewart is older then him. Also he is going through contract talks and whether we like it or not that usually messes with a players head on the field.

To be honest he need a kick up the arris, not a hug. He's not an inexperienced player by any stretch. And he can't be classe as an up and coming youngster.

How were Gerrard and Carra Fowler McManaman and Owen doing at 23? Pretty damn good......

Do you reckon Juventus has turned his head if they sent scouts the other week and that's why he isn't right? All the rags are reporting we've sent people to discuss a deal with William Carvalho as well tonight. 99.9% of both could be total bollox like but just saying

posted on 24/1/17

Forget the William Carvalho bit, just read that they were there for Markovic and it's a load of ßhite

Can's performances had taken a dip long before there was any mention of Juve. Deep down I'd say he is a good player, but he needs to be taken out of circuit for a few games. The potential is there, but he's regressing. If he were injured, or if he's carrying an injury, he'd be taken out.

I watched him come on in an international, I think against Italy. He really did look out of class then, and I haven't seen him play much better since.

He frustrates the life out of me. He needs one touch too many and constantly slows play down. I'd play a midfield three of Henderson, Gini and Lallana.

If you put him on the market now there would be no end of top clubs interested because he's good a huge skill set and is a pacey big lad as well as being versatile. I reckon he's going to be a big player for us and I hope he signs a long deal.
