Yeah 3/1 is ridiculous odds for someone with no professional boxing record. But the odds are that small because a lot of people are putting their money where their mouth is and backing Conor to pull this off.

If people weren't betting on Conor then he'd probably still be at 14/1 or longer.

Floyd doesn't release a lot of useful training footage Superb. Over the years I've watched pretty much every 24/7 show and all access and the most I've seen is him hitting the bag it hes on the speedball. Maybe he releases more over snapchat but I don't have that so I don't know. I think even the narrative for this fight is that Floyd is older and he hasn't been training and he's been partying etc, I think he's been training just as hard. Errol Spencer and Eubank Jr as sparring partners are testament to this.

Or he's on the speedball **

Mr C yeah there's enough Mayweather training videos and clips out there on YouTube etc. Not sure how much of it you'd deem useful though.

Mayweather could quite easily win by TKO, with the ref stopping it.
---------------------------------------
Just don't see it. Last time that happened was 10 years ago against Hatton. I don't think that Conor has anything to worry about from Floyd in terms of punching power or getting hurt badly.

Watching Floyd train for this fight he doesn't seem to be punching pads or the bag as hard as in previous camps. Most likely to protect his brittle hands I suspect. If he lacked knockout power in previous fights then I don't see him bringing it now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't see him knocking him out. However I can see him McGregor being tagged regularly plenty him be able to hit Floyd back.

Mayweather is far from a concussive puncher, but McGregor hasn't fought a single professional boxing match in his life. From round 6 onwards it could become target practice for Mayweather.

It all depends if Mayweather's age becomes a factor. If it isn't I can easily envisage a TKO.

Floyd looked like a 12 year old kid yesterday. Don't care how much money he has. He could at least look slick/sharp. Dressed like an utter fool.

Floyd wins this, the only question is how. I'd favour decision but I could easily see Conor tiring and Floyd stopping him late on the ropes through punch volume.
--------------------------------------------
Floyd isn't really known for either his punch volume though or for aggresively getting his opponent on the ropes. Not saying he can't do that but it would be very different from anything we've seen from him in recent years. Certainly since his Pretty Boy days.

Floyd can only win this fight via decision in my opinion. I can't see him winning any other way apart from a Conor disqualification maybe. At the same time Conor's only chance of winning is by ko/tko. No chance he wins by decision.

Conor has fatigued in the past.
-----------------------------------
This is true and if the fight goes into the later rounds then on paper at least it should benefit Mayweather. At the same time we're talking about someone in their 20's and someone in their 40's so if Conor in his 20's tires against someone in their 40's then he truly does have a huge stamina issue.

I'll be rooting for Floyd just as I would root for Conor if they fought in the cage. The integrity of the sport is at stake here.

I disagree that the integrity of the sport is at stake.

No doubt if Conor was to win ther

No doubt if Conor was to win there would be an initial wave of embarrassment for the boxing community, but in the long run it would just be another step in the evolution of the sport, it would just highlight that there's more than one way to fight and win a boxing match.

And lets not forget, if Conor wins or is even competitive with Floyd he'll box again which will be good for boxing as he's the biggest star in combat sport including Floyd.

There will be a lot of young mma fans who didn't grow up on boxing like I did, this may be the first time they have paid attention to boxing and who knows Conor could be the guy that breathes life into boxing, a sport who demographics get older every year.

Sjb I'm inclined to agree with you. I don't see it as an embarrassment for boxing if Conor wins. It would be an embarrassment to Mayweather and him alone.

Conor would definitely fight again in boxing if he wins and history would potentially remember him as someone who was multi-talented and great at both mma and boxing. A freak of nature/exception to the rule.

As you say all sports evolve, especially fighting as we've seen over the last 20 years with Mma and this would just be another step in that evolutionary process.

I agree with you superb and the above poster. Don't think it would be a stain on boxing

People are taking this for what it is. An event. Not something to decide who is the best boxer on the planet. Only one embarrassed would be Floyd.

Mr C are you going to do a prediction for this fight mate? Vik I know you're working on one. Anyone else is welcome to post a prediction unless of course you think it's a given that Mayweather wins easily etc.
