Apologies for being slightly late but just saw it this morning
Haha anyone seen this, other UFC fighters are calling out boxers in wanting to get on the undercard for this fight.
UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has called out Anthony Joshua:

So the fight is going to be at 154 pounds then which is interesting. Thought it might have been at 152 catch-weight.

Also USADA are testing so Mayweather will come into the fight in very very good condition

If it turns out like Maidana 1 then I can see Mayweather getting hurt. Not saying it will but I'm fairly certain Conor won't fight in any conventional or predictable way that Mayweather has faced before.
Ok so now that the casuals thread has calmed down a bit we can get back to talking about this fight again on the original Mayweather vs McGregor thread
I've been watching various interviews about the fight and seen how so many boxing "experts" and fans are giving McGregor no chance at all.
Despite that I'm actually starting to think that Mayweather has made a serious error by agreeing to step into a fighting arena with McGregor even if it is in a boxing ring under Queensbury rules and not an Octagon.
McGregor is undeniably bigger and stronger than Mayweather, he won't have any problems in any holds and clinches with Mayweather and he'll come at Mayweather in an unorthodox style.
Most importantly McGregor is an animal who hurts and knocks out much tougher guys than Floyd for fun, albeit under a different ruleset.
Not saying that McGregor will win this fight as logic dictates that a fighter as skilled as Mayweather should be able to deal with a pro boxing novice like McGregor with relative ease. Certainly not ruling it out though as one punch can change everything.

Yeah I've watched that sparring footage a few times now but it's not new. Admittedly Conor doesn't look special at all but at the end of the day it's just sparring. I've seen sparring sessions where Floyd hasn't looked great either.
Conor definitely won't be outboxing Floyd, I think we can all agree on that and if it goes to points them Mayweather will undoubtedly get the decision for various reasons.
On the flip side there is zero chance of Mayweather getting the ko in my opinion. This will either be Mayweather by decision or McGregor getting the ko/tko.

Personally I don't see a 27 year old Conor quitting from fatigue against a 40 year old Mayweather. Too many unanswered punches maybe but again we so rarely see Floyd fight as offensively as that in recent years.
If this was the Pretty Boy Floyd of ten years ago that fought Hatton then maybe but I can see age catching up with Mayweather in this fight. To come back from a two year absence at the age of 40 and a half can't be underestimated.
Something to wet the appetite:

And so the build up begins

I didn't say the fight needs to be built up, of course it doesn't everyone's talking about it. I said the build up begins with this trailer for the fight. Take it or leave it.

Oscar I'm nicking your link because you didn't post it on this thread, the OG Mayweather Vs McGregor thread.

Yeah maybe, Mayweather isn't going to be able to find any sparring partners that will box like McGregor if only because nobody knows how Conor will box. There's no frame of reference.

I don't see this happening at all. McGregor isn't going to try and turn this into a MMA fight, he'll be operating strictly under Queensbury rules throughout this contest.

Exactly. Not going to happen.

Normally the pre-fight stuff doesn't bother me much but on this occasion I cannot wait to see these two start opening up a war of words. I don't think they hate each other at all at the moment but I'm not sure that will still be the case come fight/event night.
