How long does a bottle like that last you?

The Macallan takes a lot of beating imo. But if you like smoke/peat, which I do, Laphroaig is excellent. In fact now I've thought of it, could you excuse me a little while please....

Might seem blasphemous, but check out some of the Japanese ones. They take it so seriously and have made some damn fine barrels.

Agree, I read some good reviews about yamazaki 12. But it's out of my price range.

Yeah just checked the exchange rate. Sorry mate. I had an apartment about 500 yards from the Suntory whiskey "museum" in Osaka. No tax...

I got a bottle of that for being a best man at a wedding. The bottle lasted longer than the marriage.

Some great tips there. If been thinking of getting into a grown up drink. Might give the Ancnoc 12 a go.

Aren't some of you fellas not supposed to drink booze for religious reasons though?

Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Lagavulin, Caol Isla, Tamnavulin, Highland Park, Glenmorangie, The Dufftown, Blair Atholl, Glen Grant, Tomintoul, Royal Culross to name but a few.
Try a few deluxe like The Antiquarian or Royal Salute.

Am currently working my way through a bottle of the lagavulin 16 year old that I was given for xmas, and it is indeed magnificent.

Oh come on admin. People are be a little paranoid now. It is a fair question and in now way offensive.

For yourself or a gift? Such a tough question as it is such a personal thing, I like the Islay whisky such as Lagavulin and Laphroaig of Skye's Talisker but they tend to be quite peaty and that is very much downto preference.

For something a bit more safe I really like the Japanese offerings which are often quite similar in style to Scotch, Nikka from the Barrelis good value and lovely.

I'd love to try Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2016.
