I suspect, like most people, they'll want someone that can deal with the day to day concerns of life in Stoke. An area he knows nothing about, and the type of issues he's little experience in.

Then I take it you would like to recommend the Labour candidate.

The ladies man!

If ukip were no marks, there would be no OP😉

Stay on the right side of the law TBAB. You know now what we use our truncheons for over here, and we're just itching for a bit of Brexit botty.

The gift that keeps on giving....

After Nuttall's failure to turn up for the Stoke hustings today, Ukip released a statement stating he had MEP commitments to attend to in Brussels.

Thought that was a bit dubious, as Nuttall and Brussels are as close as Dracula and daylight.

So, I checked various other MEP Twitter accounts.

Turns out, the motion Ukip stated that 'preoccupied' Nuttall, was in fact being held in Strasbourg. UK MEP's had not seen or heard from Nuttall in months.

Nuttall was nowhere to be seen.

How depressing will it be if he still gets in?

It will be depressing if he finishes in the top 3 to be honest.

I'm sure he will though because people are idiots.

I think even if he does win Labour will lodge a complaint with the electoral commission. As Nuttall provided a false address on his nomination form.

As I understand it the electoral commission check candidates' address with public data (bankruptcy orders, CCJs etc etc).

You should read Julia Reid (Ukip’s environmental [unbelievably] spokesperson) twitter feed. She stated:

"Once free of the EU I would like to see an end to the demonization to the incandescent lightbulb”

The replies from scientists and environmentalists were brilliant. Tore her to shreds

The official Ukip twitter feed also published a picture of Ukip supporters campaigning in Stoke. Turned out the photo was actually taken in 2015, in Bolton, and three of the campaigners had since died.

I know someone like him, always lying about things in order to make his life appear more interesting.
You'd be surprised how many people out there are pathological or compulsive liars.

The light bulb thing was funny but the Bolton picture won hands down.

What the point of UKIP now?

They are getting their single objective.

The Tories now own Brexit and have taken a large part of their vote.

UKIP have run their course.

selbstgerechtein

They have become a bit of a busted flush.

I have a feeling Carswell (amongst others) may return back to the Tories, as watching him on QT last night has more in common with them than Ukip.

And also due to the fact that Banks, Farage, Nuttall et all can’t abide him.

Glad to see the people of Stoke saw through that lying get Nuttall.

I understand due to his filming commitments relating to the new Star Wars film he can't make it.

Or was it because he's been installed as the new Leicester manager...

Tories beating labour in Copeland was nice, eh😁

Brexit Tory party taking the votes from ukip too in Stoke, and not enough leave voters in labour there.

Nuttall misjudged the region.
