Why is it much more experienced English managers are scoffed at but Vieira is a reputable choice?

That's a good shout. He has unfinished business in the PL. Don't think he'd do a bad job either.

Valid point. The main reason I included him was because he appears to be among the favourites according to the bookies. Having said that, he could be the man to reinstate a tough, resilient mentality into the players.

Big name club.

Premier League.

Guaranteed "settling in" period. Both from the fans and from the suits upstairs.

Solid finances, with the expectation of a regular injection of crazy TV money.

London.

There's no reason we should limit ourselves. Anyone would jump at the chance to manage Arsenal when Wenger decides to call it a day.

Vieira would be a big risk but you can't rule him out. Look at the job Zidane and young Guardiola did with only similar management experience.

Whether Vieira has 'got it', who knows, but nobody will know until he is given a first team to manage.

Could be, or he could be no better than Tony Adams or Remi Gard.

I think Arsenal need a manager in the mold of Simeone.

Former players like Adams, Vieira, Garde and for some bizzare reason Henry are always going to be linked. If we bring in a former player then Van Brockhurstis by far the best option

IF he does go then next season will be tough for us as it will take some time to change the mentality of the players. To go forward i think we need to step back which will be a good thing imo.

I think whoever we get we should look to get an Arsenal legend as no2 if possible (talking about Bergkamp or Vieira).

Brendan Rodgers should be on the shortlist. He's only about 5'6.

Geo Van Brokhurst. Doing a brilliant job at Feyenord

I'll be unfair and call him the Dutch Wenger.

It's been 5/6 years now and he still hasn't been able to outclass PSV and Ajax.

He's managed to keep Feyernoord consistently in Europe, and even lift a Dutch Cup, but still can't break the glass ceiling in the Eredivisie.

I've always been a proponent of him coming back to Arsenal, but I'd give him another couple of seasons first.

Im sure Feyenord are top of the dutch leage by 5 points last time i checked. It takes alot to break the hold Ajax and PSV have in the dutch league and he looks like he could finally do just that.
