Hard not to like Zlatan, he was asked about the potential McGregor Mayweather fight and he said he's bored of all the talk between them and that they should shut up and fight him

Said it was a dive at the time, looks that way there too.

Was this the free kick which they scored from? He threw himself to ground for the penalty as well. He's starting to get a reputation for it.

Cracking player, probably cheated St Etienne out the competition last night though.

didn't see the game but don't we want united to progress in the europa and FA cups so it could impact their league form?

I think united are going to finish 5th / 6th but win the Europa.

Not really bothered either way if Im honest, as long as we finish in the top 4.
Dont see United winning this competition though.
If St Etienne had a striker worthy of the name, they could and probably should have scored 3 or 4 last night.

23 goals so far in his first season isn't a bad return

Not really, he saw the player coming at him and turned his back on him putting his body between the defender and the ball.

Defenders fault for committing himself too early. Any smart attacker does the same.

First was a dive though, I'd agree.

I think we really need CL football this summer to help attract the type of players we need to sign, so I'll look for any advantage over the competition, would like to see united / spurs in the Europa league final and Arsenal go far in the FA cup and City go far in CL too.

Imagineyou finish fourth, we won Europa and Leicester or City won the CL.....that would be just hilarious.

Dress it up anyway you want, he dived for the free kick, and dived for the penalty.
Professional, clever, smart, call it what you want, and usually only called this when it goes in your favour, but it was pretty clear, he cheated.
Still dont think this tie is completely put to bed though.

Neither team will win these competitions in my opinion anyway, so wont lose much sleep worrying about this scenario.
Think well finish in the top 3 anyway.

I'd have to agree unfortunately.

TBH, a season with you lot back in the CL wouldn't be bad, you barely have the squad to manage the PL alone.

If we do qualify we need to spend 100 million or more IMO, we need at least 4 quality players to come in to bolster the squad and improve the first 11.

Fortunately there is a transfer window before the Champions League begins.

Strange comment, beyond the fact we will obviously bring players in, when you consider that at this point last season, with a probably worse squad we were 6th, around 12 or 13 points off top spot, in the final of the League Cup, and en route to the Europa League final.
Ring any bells ?
Point is, when your bench options usually consist of Fellaini, Lingard, etc, you may well want to avoid revelling in what you regard as the weakness of others squads.

As proven when you have 3 players missing in January.

To be fair our bench had Lingard, Rashford, Schweinsteiger on it last night, but largely due to Rooney, Carrick and Mkhitaryan being unavailable. Whilst also fielding a strong 11.
