Depends what you wsnt there are companies like Venus that provide hind end of the internet specs. Plussnet is owned by BT now. Talk talk are cheaper though.

Basically...

I've had talk talk TV but found it was paying £15 a month for something that was virtually just free view. Don't want to end up stuck with the same if I go for BT, Sky or Virgin TV...

So if anyone's got a base TV package with any of those they'd recommend then would probably go for that. Otherwise I'll just go for a standard broadband only supplier.

BT infinity is £37 a month atm with free sports until July, but again not sure how worthwhile that is now they split the game with sky.

In a nutshell. I know feck all!

Anyone but Virgin, even their engineers admit they're crap

BT seem like a decent option

BT the best, all the European Football is on there and usually one PL game a weekend with more spread throughout the season on week nights etc

Sky is better if you want more domestic football but BT is catching up on that front.

Virgin. Fastest in the country.

BT are HORRENDOUS!!!!!

Don't recommend sky. I got an unbelievable deal with them a few years ago off the back of a few mistakes they'd made. £20 a month for all their TV channels & a + box (not Q) and unlimited fibre broadband. Still planning on leaving for Virgin later in the year.

Been with sky for a while as they always gave me 50 or 60% off.

Broadband wise though, just moved to BT as the 29.99 for infinity was too good for sky to match this time, and I get bt sport free with it.

Just saw that, which deal are you looking at grated? Mine was cheaper than that, do it through uswitch and compare providers that way as it showed offers I didn't get on the bt website itself.

CL football is a big plus for BT Grated. The service seems reliable to me and Murdoch isn't making any money out of me which is a good thing.

BT for me but sign up through a comparison site and you should get a bonus - I got a £100 Sainsburys voucher.

After that the trick seems to be that you phone and threaten to cancel about a month before your 12/18/24 month contract is up, they'll offer you all kinds of goodies.

For £40 a month I get 72mbps unlimited broadband, free weekend calls, caller ID, a few extra TV channels like AMC and Discovery plus all the football in HD.

Found it on uswitch melts.

It's £36.99

52mb infinity fibre, £100 pre paid MasterCard , free amc Comedy Central etc, free BT sports till July. + £6 Netflix and calls

Seems pretty sound. Just as I say don't want to pay for TV if it's barely better than normal free view once the by sports runs out...

Cheers for all input anyways!

im with virgin have been for 12 years, never had a problem really, their fibre is fast and reliable they have decent customer service. I only have their internet and phone atm and the phone line rental is like 16.99 or something daft but it works out cheaper internet if you have a phone line :/.

Currently paying 34 a month for thier medium phone and net 100meg fibre i get like 9ms ping 105 down 6 up rarely have issues with it and when i have customer service has been great. Seems a little expensive though prices can hike and you have to phone them every 6 months to get a new discount or w.e and i guess they tie you down to 12 months or w.e. Like with most places though the more packages you have with them the better deals they can prob offer you.

Ive been thinking of changing if they keep hiking prices up but in fairness their speeds are improving too. Still ive noticed a few 3/4 pound increases over the past few years on total bills also the line rental increased i was happiest when it was 23 a month but that was with 10 £ loyalty discount monthly a few years back and was on the top broadband package.

That upload is terrible

upload in the uk is terrible in general isnt it? unless you get some kind of business line its usually like 5% of your down. the best they do is 20 up and its their gamer package i think.

i think my cousin gets 18 tbf but his downs lower with bt infinity or w.e.

posted on 17/2/17

he says he doesnt believe its a true 18mb upload though feck knows i just always thought it was generally p!ss poor in the uk compared to countries like Sweden etc, always annoyed me dno why they are so tight with it.

Been with Virgin for the last 10 years now. We're on a £20 deal with them for 50MB fibre optic internet and free unlimited calls on the landline.

Every few months the service goes down for a few hours so there's no internet but apart from that they have been very decent.
