Now probs with the result, we created nothing of note and I hope CFC go on to lift the cup!

But, the way they move the ball from back to front and control the midfield thereafter, is somewhat mesmerising <seedouble> really enjoyed losing somehowUTW

That's what you get for a £300m outlay and £150m wage bill.

Fosun are richer than Abramovic but we are Wolves and therefore sign Paul Gladon for a bag of peanuts in our bid to avoid the drop to League One.

Gladon is one for the future

They all are.

Well we've played 3 Premier league teams and beaten 2 of them. That's a 66% win rate. Of the Premier league sides, only Chelsea can better that, with 76%. Man City just behind us with 64%. Albion on 40%

I hope all those plastic fans who left when Chelsea scored their second don't come back.

Me too Wulfrun.

I wonder how many of them will turn up against blues.

I wonder how many clubs would get bigger crowds for matches against the Premier League leaders compared to average championship teams? My guess, 100% of the football clubs in the world

I think the cup run we have had this season will stay in the mind for a long time. Three excellent performances with great atmospheres and a good reminder of why we want Wolves back in the top flight.

I think Paul Lambert has shown he has the ability to set up and motivate the team to compete with the best and that has to augur well. The big hurdle he has to crack in the coming months is to get this team to regularly win games at Molineux. Away from home we generally look a decent team and if we can start to make Molineux a fortress then we are on the way to a much improved season in 2017/18

Oh well, back to your relegation battle

Why such poor efforts against Burton and Wigan, PL
keeps saying we play like that we'll be ok, yes Paul but the truth is we don't.
Think on this, if we don't put away Blues on Friday how many on here think we'll beat Hudders and win at Reading ?
We need more fire in our bellies in all games not just the glamour ties.

You did alright really and weren't disgraced losing against the Premiership Champions elect. Trouble is for both you and Vile is the possibility of relegation so you need to turn you FA Cup form into League form.

We were poor against Wigan and Burton for sure. But in 2017 we have been good against Stoke, Liverpool, Chelsea, Sheffield Wednesday, Villa and Barnsley and we were unlucky to lose against Norwich and Newcastle

It would be good to play well every game and that's where we should aim to get to but we are playing well much more often than not and that's good progress compared to the first half of the season.

All well and good playing 'well' but the problems are obvious, we are bereft of ideas in the final third and rely on one tactic to score goals basically, whilst that continues we are not long to have an edge in games.

We still did the thunder clap then

Feck me, time we knocked that on the head.

Cult status for a striker who threatens less than Siggy, Clarke and Doyle.

Of course we can't play well all of the time, and of corse you can't win all of your matches. However, what riles me, and I guess many Wolves supporters, is that we don't have some off days when we lose and some better days when we win. Instead we have days when we play out of our skins against, on paper, superior opposition, and then we have days when we play abysmally against sides we ought to be able to at least compete with.

I suppose the question is, as a Wolves supporter, would you trade in wins at Stoke and Liverpool, or more importantly against Villa, Barnsley and Newcastle away, for nice routine 2-1 wins against Burton and Wigan?

I'm not so sure.

I suppose the bottom line is we do need to score more goals and win more matches in the league. We certainly have a squad capable of doing that but are not doing it consistently enough.

Personally, I would trade in our performances against Stoke, Liverpool and Chelsea for similarly good performances at home to Burton and Wigan and away at Cardiff, with 9 extra points in the bag.

posted on 19/2/17

and those 9 extra points would now see us 12th with games in hand and a realistic shot at the play-offs.

I agree wulfrun, the cup wins are nice but it seems apparent that they have distracted us from our bread and butter games the last month.

I don't think we will go down but to be where we are is pretty disgraceful given the options at our disposal and I struggle to find many positives at this point, we simply have not been good enough.

Cheers DJ, I value your comments and all the other lads that go to matches who must have a better idea of the reality of our performances than me but our form just now is not acceptable.
