If ge can get back to his pre bayern self he's a quality player. would be as good as Coutinho. But that was nearly 4 years ago now and he's showed very little in that time
Not really.
Already got a number of players that can play that 10 position in Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino.
Missing out on him was the best thing to happen us meaning we signed Mane. With Gotze we would just pass the ball sideways non stop like we did in January without Mane.
Need a backup with similar attributes to Mane, not another Coutinho/Lallana type player. Gotze has been pretty ordinary for a long period now as well.
Take him in a heartbeat and Klopp obviously wants him if we're going back in for him.
Bringing players like him starts to add serious stength in depth.
The mirror is the sauce? Okay then..
I certainly wouldn't say no. There would be a few doubts however. I don't think he's suited to the PL. We are crying out for different types of players, would he solve anything? Is he the player he once was?
I think this is one pulled out of the played for Klopp before hat and has no foundation.
Klopp isn't one for signing big name players, or spending lots of money. He prefers to spend as little as possible and develop players. He's not a chequebook manager like everyone else.
It would be £20m at most, hardly massive in today's market.
He'd have to be worth a punt for twenty million sure we took a punt on markovic at that price and Gotze scored a world cup Winning goal.
There hasn't been a buzz about him though for last few years and he looked a bit chubby last time I saw him play
I don't believe this story.
If it is true though, then Klopp must be desperate for him, which is good enough for me.
I can see him doing well here. He's been off the boil since he left Dortmund, but too often a young starlet fails to perform at a big club because of performance anxiety.
He'd do well playing for Klopp.
Klopp knows the player so will know how to get the best out of him.
I wouldn't go for him but if Klopp wants him then he should get a chance to show if he's still got it. He's hardly played well for any other manager.
Good thing is that you know Klopp won't sign someone permanently if he didn't want him. I see the signings he's made and for the most part they have done really well. Karius being the only questionable. But it's not unusual for a young GK to have a bad rookie year with a big club. I just hope in the summer we sign players that like to run past defenders with pace and look to go through on goal. Nobody can doubt Klopp's ability of picking good players for his team. So many have done well under him and Klopp has turned them into world class footballers. My dream would be to have Suarez back under Klopp. With us signing Van Dijk at the back. Both will never happen sadly.
Karius
T-A-A Matip Van Dijk Clyne
Hendo
Lallana. Couthino
Mane. Suarez Firmino

Can you not fit a left back in your dream or even have Milner there rather than playing Clyne out of position and bringing in a reserve?

Well I was thinking longterm next few seasons if T-A-A kicks on. Plus to sign Suarez and Van Dijk we would of had to lay down some serious cash.
IMO he can absolutely go get lost.
he turned us down last summer and nailed his greedy colors to the mast. I am pretty sure its agent talk frankly.
He certainly doesn't rate 180k per week
I would hope as said above if it is true the fact he's not played at dortmund and they are awash with players that the fee would be low (which is 20mil these days)
Gotze was great as a potential superstar n all that.
Peaked too early and now he's destined to never quite live up to his hype.
Did score the winner goal in a world cup final though and I'm sure he's got a champions league, bundesliga and German cup medal to his name.
He could walk out for his next game, drop Troy and leave a steamer on the centre circle and retire at 24 years old and still have had a career that only a millionth of professional footballers could come close to matching.
