He did his warm up by running from one side of the ground to the other.
The fans did they usual 'woooooaaaaaaah' to get him to the goat pump in the kip and the south stand and he blatantly ignored both ends. Sure he doesn't need to the fist pump if he didn't play but he never looked up and never acknowledged them once.
It was poor form.
The goat pump?? Hahaha....fist obviously

He usually loves this sort of thing, so he's definitely not happy. To not even clap or hold your hand up is wrong.
Good on Monk for sticking to his principals. Let's hope it can be swept under the carpet
In the previous game before Brighton he went down injured several times - so my guess is he picked up a knock and has a niggle. Not sure there was anything more in it than that......... we're not blessed with CB options so I'm guessing Monk put him on the bench and prayed he'd not need him. Better to give Pontus a weeks rest than a niggle become something more significant.
As for him ignoring the crowd - behave. He was clearly going through a planned bit of exercise and was carrying it out professionally.
Come on VOF, you know Jansson would normally acknowledge the crowd, it was wrong....plain wrong

1. he isnt going to get a weeks rest as hes going away with Sweden.
2. he blanked the crowd - simple as.
I can understand he was gutted and not in the mood to celebrate. But just give a little clap as you run past. Even Matt Grimes can muster that.
Reading between the lines I think he was getting too big for his boots so Monk has brought him down to earth with a bump.It won't do his ego any harm
There could of course be a genuine reason fur change in character ie death in family etc.
However it's not hard to acknowledge the fans whom you know hold you in high esteem.
The only party it impacts negatively on is jansson and if he is indeed petty enough to not acknowledge fans, one wonders as to his emotional maturity to end of season discussions.
Gelderd ...... i'll not deny it was odd, and yes I was surprised that he didn't acknowledge the crowd in any way ....... but I'm not reading too much into it either. Moments before starting to run up and down the middle of the pitch you could see him getting advice from a coach before he started it.
Perhaps he was told to concentrate on the exercise and no lark around with the crowd? We don't know so we're up in arms about it.
He might be going away with Sweden, but there could be discussions with the Swedish national coaches advising them he's carrying a knock. Again we don't know.
If dropping him wasn't for yellow cards or tactical (why replace a solid defensive partnership for such a pivotal game?!?!!), then my guess, especially after seeing him hobble so much in the previous fixture, is he's carrying a knock.

really hope nothing detrimental to our season has happened.
like someone pointed out though, if it was that serious he wouldnt of been in the squad.
hopefully we can just move on and it will turn out to be nothing to worry about.

"I respect the decision." Jansson talks about being dropped and says Monk's reasons "will stay between me and him."
Top man, closes the book on that.
Move on now, nothing her to gawk at!
