London under attack

The guy who has been named incorrectly as the attacker, who is actually in jail right now and is a radicalised Muslim, is going to get rich now, isn't he?

Channel 4, Sky, The independent among others all ran with his name.

What a farce.

The BBC has reported that the police believe they know who the attacker was but aren't releasing the name.

Abu Izadeen? Don't know why he'd get rich. He's a fairly well known character around London anyway.

Had words with him once actually, him and his cronies had set up some stall up in Whitechapel trying to preach to passers-by.

Nasty, nasty piece of work but he isn't stupid enough to do this. Shocking journalism, that.

I imagine that they'll want to both secure the family, and see what of use they can glean from them, if anything.

These people that carry out attacks like today represent the Muslim faith as much as them nutcases at the Westboro Baptist church represent Christianity. They use the shroud of religious faith to justify their cowardly behaviour. They kill and maim with impunity irrespective of the nationality, colour, gender, age or faith. They are warped individuals who'd find another cause to latch onto if the Muslim faith wasn't convenient to them.

To those on here worried about repercussions based on the faith of yourselves and your family. You are part of Great Britain first and foremost, regardless of the colour of your skin, your religious beliefs, whether you have a beard or wear religious clothing. You are more British than these cowards, even if they were born and bred here. We stand together against these people intent on questioning our freedom. But we need to remember these nutcases are in the minority.

We've faced similar challenges before and come through them with strength and resolve. We will again.

Excuse the rambling but just thought I'd get a few thoughts of my chest after reading a few comments on this thread.

It's really sad incidents like this happen. You wake up thinking what if you're involved in something on the way to work. Cannot imagine to think what the families who's lives were lost must be going through. Natural death is hard enough to deal with. Add something like this and the pain is multiplied. It makes you think where are we heading in the future...

Yeah, its the schools fault.

What next, ban parents? Ban friends?

Its not a schools fault that bampots are bampots.

Ban schools that's a pretty stupid idea, in fact that's probably the stupidest thing said on here.

Education is the key to defeating intolerance and ignorance.

Only a total fookwit would suggest Otherwise.

Nothing really wrong with the idea of banning religious schools

Religion should be something that people can come to as adults rather than easily led children.

Make all schools secular and give everyone an equal chance of working out their own path as adults with fully formed minds.

I went to a religious school and the amount of focus on one particular religion was troubling now I look back on it.

So your ban all religious schools because of a few nutjobs?

What's next book burnings for texts that don't fit in with modern ideas of what's acceptable.

Slippery slope

Not sure that'll stop a nutjob get into a car.... but no doubt it'll somehow make Britain great again

The guy didn't kill people the Vauxhall car did...heard all.

Fack sake, adopt China model and ban all religious school. Nothing is bigger than patriotism and harmony.

Not even about terrorism really

Religion as a whole is a silly thing and it's actually cruel brainwashing children into it before they can decide what they can believe in

As for book burning - it's funny because religious folk have been behind many a book burning.

I think people can read what they want - but it should be by choice rather than forced upon people

I have a friend who is a pastor and he and his wife have a young child and haven't forced Religion on their daughter or even had her baptised. They are going to let her make her own mind up about it when he's old enough.

I think that's great myself. They are good friends of mine and I'm an atheist and they don't care one bit. Religion shouldn't be forced on to people. It's why our school system is wrong. The church owns the land and forces religion on our kids.
