This debate should move on to how the mentally ill are neglected in this country now that the perp who committed last weeks attack has no link to terrorism.
Hasn't funding been slashed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Making some big assumptions there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What assumption is that? There is no evidence of an attack based on ideology political or religious. The police have now confirmed it. That's a fact, or are you that desperate for it to be "Islamic".
Of course Muslims don't commit crimes without it being guidance from the Quran.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, of the Metropolitan Police, told BBC Panorama that, while Masood "clearly had an interest in Jihad",
What evidence have you that he was mentally ill? I haven't heard that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh I thought all terrorist attacks which weren't attributed to Islam were mental health issues?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for wasting my time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But in a statement released on 25 March, the Met's Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu added: "We must all accept that there is a possibility we will never understand why he did this. That understanding may have died with him."

Most of Europe seem to be moving away from the left, in the next 10 years I can see the likes of Britain and other major countries with right wing governments
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Britain already has a right wing government. The Overton window has shifted so far right in the UK that your average political debate at home would sound ridiculous here in Portugal.
I honestly don't think people here would put up with the degradation of workers' rights, demonisation of the unions, stealth privatisation of the health service, incessant scapegoating of immigrants and the unemployed, wholesale tax avoidance and evasion amongst the moneyed, etc. etc. that has become perfectly commonplace and accepted in the UK.
Is Portugal left wing Rosso? Might move there then

I expect some more information will come out but whether it will make the picture clearer who knows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was taking it seriously, from the perspective of a Muslim if the perps name isn't Abdul then it's a white lone wolf/mentally ill/disinfranchised/loner

Yes, the people are, by and large, of a leftie persuasion
Of the major parties, there is one right of centre offering; a pretty sensible, pro-business internationalist party. Think a lightweight version of John Major-era Tories. There's no UKIP equivalent.
The centre left socialists are in power now, where they've been (in one form or another) for the greater part of the last 20 years or so I think. The Greens, another slightly more radical socialist group, and the Communists also do relatively well.
I have a friend from Cuba. He genuinely hates Castro with a passion. Want to go visit but only for a historical purpose

Think there is a real chance of further terrorist incidents. Especially when those that have been fighting for IS start trying to get back to the UK.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Based on what exactly? This wasn't aso called Islamic terrorist as you have been arguing for days. The met have made that clear there's no evidence.. you still creating things in your head to fit your own narrative

Based on the fact that hundreds have gone out to join IS. IS are being beaten on the ground and will scatter. Some will try to get back. And many have had conflict experience.
As for the most recent incident I quoted earlier about him having an interest in jihad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ehh??? What is your understanding of what jihad is? Guess what? As a Muslim, I too am interested in jihad.,I try to practice it everyday! ... one thing that is obvious from your comments in the last few days is that you are very very ignorant and u educated when it comes to Islam yet sprout the first thing that comes in your head... absolutely deluded.

Why is it a valid concern anymore than if it was a man alone?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Women are easier targets and incidences of rape at higher against women
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh thats just comical. Women shouldn't be allowed to drive in case the car breaks down and a man rapes her ?
So punish the woman because she might get raped?
That's feckin ridiculous
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's just a lame excuse for the oppression of women. The deflection by some on here is outrageous.

If you think the people who have been fighting for IS aren't a security risk when they inevitably return, then you're beyond delusional.
Why is their return inevitable?

As they say - If you could reason with religious people, there would be no religious people.
Can there be a god without religion?
I think so.
I'm more open to the idea there's a god rather than the need for a religion.

I think so. Religion is the worshipping of a god, and we've already established that the world won't end if we don't continually give thanks or sacrifice the odd human to keep him happy.....

You really have to ask that? Sure, some of them will stay, but there will also be a number that will return at some stage. Some of them because they've realised it's not the paradise they misguidedly signed up for, others because they've been sent back to create havoc in their 'home' country.
Thinking this won't happen is just more head in the sand behaviour.
