I sneaked out of my house to go to a Rangers game just to see Davie Cooper in action.
My parents wouldn't let me go on my own at the time.
my dad took my up to ibrox, i recall the scarfs on the gate.

Some player right enough.
Detested him at the time but you couldn't deny his ability.
It's the 22 years bit that's more of a shock.
I remember the old Dryborough cup games were it allowed guys like DC to show off their talents. Terrific player and is sadly missed.
Anybody seen any videos of davie in his prime? Love watching the old players.

Albert was my favourite player when I was a boy. My favourite memory was watching him destroy Ilves Tampere at Ibrox.
A really good player...rangers maybe let him go too soon! He was past his best for sure but even at Motherwell he had some brilliant performances.

I grew up in a Celtic household and my cousins hated the fact that I thought he was a class player.
Rivalry apart he was a top top player!

I know, but the Motherwell fans got to enjoy him as well, so not all bad

And goram.....still a great keeper then.
Motherwell train near me..I used to watch the training occasionally. Would just go down when they were finishing...goram would line up 8/10 players to take shots at him from just outside the box. It would last for about 10/15 minutes.
It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Some days, if he was right on his game, he would hardly let any in at all.
I used to be behind the goals and saw some unbelievable saves.
Everyone las their own views on him as a man but as a keeper he was world class.

Cooper is , in my opinion , the best Rangers' player ever. There were seasons when he was the only player worth watching . A gem .
inconsistent but on his day world class
Good OP Bluebell.
Tragic that he never saw his 40th birthday.
I met him quite often in his early playing days.
Mates and me would often go to see Clydebank if Celtic were Away on
the same day.
The attraction was that if you turned up early enough to you got on the
Team bus to the Away ground
He was the standout player.
A few years younger than me but had good chat.
