Where we finish will determine the quality of players we can bring in.
Foremost in Klopp's mind I suspect will be bringing in players who can cope with the physicality of the English game. We are the smallest team in the league and teams who try to bully us, can have some success.

If we go for and get Van Dijk then field Matip Dijk and Grujic lol.
When you think about the players that could be leaving depending on Klopps ideas.
Wisdom, Flanagan (TAA and Gomez no doubt preferred), Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Markovic, Stewart, Manninger and Sturridge. Theres a few on there i'd like to see given another chance personally but they currently look like their time is up with us.
A lot of them are on loan currently anyway so it would hardly change much if they were sold right now anyway but if we make CL can we afford to lose them + more without replacing? Currently we have a few injuries and our bench gets 3/4/5 kids on it as it is.
I expect it to be a very busy window for us and extremely important even if we miss out on CL.
Like to point out i have no problem with Woodburn and TAA etc on the bench, i've said before they are better then a lot of the squad players we've spunked 10s of millions on in the past.
Champions League is really important for us.
The real top players such as VVD will be out of reach for us if we don't.
you can imagine players like Brandt, Lacazette and J Rodriguez (mentioned in the press we are interested) wont be anywhere near us if we fail in top 4.
Also like to add that if we make top 4, then along with City and CFC (i take it they will make it) it means Utd are UNLIKELY to make it, which is another nail in their elite status.

They're pretty much nailed on for the europa league so they will be in CL next year regardless of top 4 finish.
They're favourites for Europa but I wouldn't gave them as nailed on. They have that many games it would only take a poor 45 mins against thd likes of Lyon and they'll be out.
In terms of our signings I don't know how much of a difference CL football would make. It can't hurt obviously but none of out best players were signed when we had it. Keep the ones we have and add three or four more that have a positive effect on the first team and I'd be happy.
I'd like Klopp to find some his own gems as much as i'd like him to sign proven quality that will improve the team straight away, also keep the youth involved as much as possible too.
CL is a nice to have but what is more important is wages. If we mean business then we gotta pay the wages.
That's how city managed to grow without cl they offered the wages, united too can pay massive wages to sign a player like Pogba, CL is much more important for us and Spurs to attract top players than it is for city and united.
It's the most important transfer window in a couple but I struggle to see why it's more important than, for example, after we finished 2nd with Suarez. Opportunity to bring in genuine quality and try to because regular challengers. Didn't happen.
This is only the most important because it's here and now. There'll be others.
That's not to say this window isn't an opportunity however (albeit they all are) and the potential turnover could certainly make it one of the more interesting. Especially if we get top 4.
I see your point Solo but what we found was even with CL under Rodgers it wasn't enough to get top players in.
We have to hope that Klopp helps attract players to the club, the reality is while Liverpool are still a huge club the club doesn't really have the appeal outside of England anymore, non British players really don't look at us as a big club anymore, we've not been a force in Europe since the days of Rafa.
But Klopp is a superstar manager, one of the best known managers in Europe so hopefully the owners are willing to go gay but further with wages, we get CL and then Klopp can convince top players that Liverpool is the club for them
To go gay
Should read to go that bit
can..most important because we have all the other pieces in place;
Stadium
Top Manager
Decent players
Just need to add CL footy then the players will come.

Coutinho is in the press at the moment, some nice comments by his chum Neymar, almost immediately being reciprocated by the man himself.
As we've seen countless times in the past I think we can be sure a lack of CL next season for us will see Coutinho leave, albeit for another astronomical figure.
A lot of focus is currently on what happens in the summer, specifically on pressure on transfers, the reality is the pressure is already on..., if we want to attract the caliber of player commensurate with our aspirations then CL next season is obligatory.
I think couts will be gone in 3yrs, approaching his prime then; most if not all S Americans want to play for barca or real anyway.
Couts is decent but hes no suarez or as consistent as say xabi was. Not THAT worried if we lose him, we will get decent money to reinvest.
You won't make top 4 this season Vishnu.

Liverpool won't get top 4 Robbing. The safest best is still Chelsea, Spurs, City Arsenal IMO. Liverpool, United and Arsenal all look wobbly, but Wenger will likely get Arsenal over the line again somehow.
Man Utd have the Europa to get in through.
I'm just going off of history and predicting the most likely outcomes. Mourinho will likely win the Europa, Wenger will likely get top 4 again. Liverpool will likely get 5th or 6th place.
This summer is going to be an important transfer window for us if we get top 4. But I'd be wary of getting over excited about the calibre of players we might sign. Klopp isn't the type of manager to sign marquee players for huge sums. It's more likely he'll look for players that play with the workrate of the current crop, and compliment the style of play. Hopefully he'll look to add strength in depth on the bench as well.
Agree feet dude, like if Greizmann is for sale we're not in the picture.
But Klopp should hopefully have more pulling pwoer for younger, but highly talented players who may not have considered us even with CL football under another manager.
Agree the mentality seemsto be key for Klopp, player has to want to play for us, want to be part of the club and have the desire and workrate required.
