It would be funny

That would be fantastic. Maybe keep Haza for one more season, and sell him before World Cup?

posted on 28/3/17

Doubt it they would sell him to us. They'd eatger sell for far less the asking abroad. I'd say Bayern and Juve are favorites to sign him, probably for about £25m which is a steal

The meltdown would be spectacular

Imagine AFTV. That alone is a perfect reason for this signing.

Arsenal board wouldn't inflict more pain than they already are now to their fans, or would they?

Based on what we've seen with Wenger I don't think that the Arsenal board give much of a hoot what their fans think as long as the money keeps rolling in.

I suppose their prioritues is to keep theirena main shareholders happy. They are more interested in return of their investments, Arsenal fans are merely stakeholders that can be ignored and dealt with no problem. I your main shareholder is American then the expect the club to adapr the pristine capitalist principles.

They've sold to Utd previously. Their board and Wenger only care about money. As long as they get a decent wedge, they will sell him to anyone in the PL

Arsenal's financial position was quite different back then, Mr C. They can now afford to lose out in terms of transfer fees if they don't strengthen a 'rival'.

I was thinkiing from the Arsenal fans point of view. Yeah you are absolutely right. They are not the one calling the shots, the shareholders and the board are.

Daz

2012..i don't think they were in dire financial straits to be fair mate.. I just think they wanted to quickly sell before they lose out on a fee. Another 6 months and he would be free to sign with someone else for free if I'm not mistaken..

This.

We sold RvP to United on the back of a 30-league-goal season.

Wenger, the board, the Arsenal fan base, and at least 1 Chelsea fan recognise this.

I think Arsenal would rather get a fee than not strengthen a rival.

In fact every rival, including the majority of Arsenal fans recognise it.

Not forgetting a certain Ashley Cole.

They didn't have the financial strength they had now, though. I think Sanchez will only end up at prem club if he kicks up a fuss and leaves them with little or no choice.

I'm not buying the idea they'd happily sell to a prem side just to get a bit more money. There's no evidence to support this given Arsenal's recent wealth.

posted on 28/3/17

Not really had anyone to sell since RVP though.

I think Koscielny and Bellerin have been courted from abroad and Arsenal have just offered them improved contracts.

I don't think the club would have a say in the matter, once a player's contract runs into its final year.

Quite a few players with contracts due to run out next year are also adopting a wait-and-see attitude.

posted on 28/3/17

If Wenger wants these players to stay at the club for a foreseeable future, and these players are happy to continue, suppose they have to come to an agreement with Wenger to keep him happy as well.

But with Sanches is a different story. He wants to leave and has no intention of signing a new contract. Sanches hold the cards here with only one in a year left in his contract. It's criminal Arsenal board have left it so late to negotiate his new contract. He is one of their best players ffs
