He doesn't like shaw I think Jose came close to signing him at Chelsea maybe he is sore about that lol. United payed alot alot alot of money for him and Jose obviously doesn't think he is worth it.

If Shaw can play with Jose's brain every week he could have a bright future at united. He was good last night.

united fans have been saying for a while that we could do with a few on the pitch, get back that nasty edge, but unfortunately we had to make do with one on the touchline.

we do though have fellaini's/zlatan's elbows.

Why are any of you surprised at what Maureen says about Shaw.

If Maureen doesn't like something about a player he tells the media that the player's attitude or professionalism is the problem when it is himself that has the problem.

Maureen has form for this. Only recently he did a similar thing to Schweinsteiger.

Previously, he did similar to both Hazard & Costa at Chelsea and before that Casillas at RM.

There were 11 United players on the pitch last night, why did Jose single out Shaw?

before you all get on your soapbox you might want to go and read the shaw threads from the other day, which contained links to (quotes) from every manager he has ever had questioning either his fitness, his lifestyle, or his attitude.

LVG did it, ditto hodgson, adkins, and pochettino.

Makes you wonder why united spent so much on him then Don.

I'm surprised the Adkins diet didn't improve his fitness, lifestyle or attitude

it very much makes you wonder that, agreed....i know SAF used to try to assess a player's personality before signing him, and i doubt shaw would have made the grade, and there is some doubt as to who at the club was exactly responsible for signing him (was he a club target? a moyes target? did LVG really want him?)

it was a brave/risky/foolish signing at the time - most expensive full back in history, one of the 3 or 4 most expensive teenagers - but has turned into a huge flop - he will cost the club more money than ADM ever did, and with a lesser contribution.

The problem, imo, is that these statements and his abrasive attitude aren't just water under the bridge. Shaw might not be a dressing room heavyweight (figuratively speaking!), but others who are might not be speaking out but will be taking note privately. Over time, individual discontent can well become widespread mutiny.

ironic, given that shaw is a huge - and i do mean huge - fan of bounty bars

I thought Jose's latest comments were out of order and completely unnecessary. He said that he had told Shaw already so why was it necessary to broadcast his thoughts to the whole world as well?

Even if Shaw only played well because he did what he was told, why does Jose have to say that to the press? Why could he not have simply told Shaw in private and said that next time he wants to see a similar performance without the hand holding?

Or why not simply say that Shaw played well because he followed instructions? The way Jose phrased it was harsh and entirely self-serving.

I'm getting a bit fed up with Jose singling him out now. It's borderline bullying imo. Especially when our other players aren't exactly playing well at the moment either.

Our form has been very poor this year. When is Jose himself going to take some of the blame for that?

When things go well he is quick to take all the credit. When things go wrong he is even quicker to point the finger at others.

I'm all for holding the players accountable for their performances but there are ways to do that without being an A55hole about it.

I get being supportive of the manager but for some of you he is literally beyond reproach isn't he??!!!

I think l's influence is beginning to show.

For the last couple of seasons he (l) has backed Maureen to the hilt, blaming everyone from Cech to Dr. Eva to Hazard & Costa.

This year he will be blaming Shaw & Schneiderlin (amongst others) when Utd fail to get top 4.

But, at no time has he ever allowed the idea that 'Maureen might be at least partially to blame' to cross his tiny mind.

It appears that l has managed to project this mentality onto a lot of United supporters.
