The issue here is that a lot of these young players showed incredible promise during an injury blighted season.

They are not being given a chance and are being treated poorly whilst some are untouchable even when they are crap
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Should Martial be untouchable when he's crap?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Should José
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Martial being crap has less to do with Jose and more to do with himself.

Truth is somewhere in the middle... He's not crap, you know this... Just out of form... You've just a bee in your bonnet over him

I'm not saying he is crap. Far from it

Just that he's been crap.

Jose hates kids.

You were told this when he became your manager.

He slaps them. He pulls their ears and he doesn't play them.

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that the likes of Martial and Rashford have gone backwards. It's just not Maureen's style to give them a chance.

Without taking the Mick, quite a few united fans are either ignoring history or deliberately rewriting it over joses previous behaviour.

Did they think he would suddenly change because he's at united.

You hired him to win and win quick so the sponsorship money and champions league money keeps coming in.

There was reticence to hire him from figures inside the club and why was that.

Because of his behaviour and strategy.

I said it yesterday, are you entertained, yeah you might get some trophies but is that all you watch football for?

Jose will never change.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This isn't quite fair, I think a few people (MuDD particularly, but among others) have pointed out all that you have said before he was hired at the club.

I think most were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt at a new club but still pointed out his failings as a manager.

For some him winning things will be enough, generally by definition if you win a title there have been some goals scored somewhere

For others (me included) winning isn't everything, but neither is it mutually exclusive from playing good football, or blooding a few youngsters, especially the ones we have that have shown some talent and that they are ready to step up.

I think the game has moved on from him unfortunately...

His recent trophy haul has dried up and even if he did improve on that, it isn't enough to cancel out his abrasive management style..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dried up to such an extent that he's the first ever to win a trophy as United manager in his first season. One transfer window used, give him next season at least.

I may have a bit of an odd opinion on this, but buying über expensive players diminishes the achievement of you do win a big title. Effectivley a shortcut. Leicester winning the PL is arguably a more impressive achievement that Real Madrid spending a billion to win the CL, as the resource difference is vast.

Sad indigent by of modern football that you generally need to be rolling in it to achieve success.

Of course it is, nothing odd in that opinion.

Tell that to some fans. If you'd grew up, or read their football history, pre tv money meddling, it was a much more vast and fair landscape. Now it's just the big boys club.

And it's a lot worse for it, despite how technology can beam it to our homes/phones in gorgeous detail.

There's really no mystery or romance any more. Days of red star Belgrade etc winning a European cup (way before my time, but still) are gone. Now it's just the rich playing the rich, and the same teams usually.

The 1980s threw up 6 first-time European Cup champions versus 1 so far this century.

In 24 years of Champions League tournaments, only 3 winners have hailed from outside the big four leagues. That's fewer than in the last 7 editions of the old European Cup.

Exactly ioag, money and greed has ruined football.

In some ways Sky helped saved football in this country

Go back to 1991/1992 and the quality was low, stadiums were old and decrepit (like VC) and it was far from something for families.

Things have improved so much since then

We all pay or have paid sky subs over the years. We have fed this monster over the years and now we have no choice but to keep on feeding it.

No they haven't. They've destroyed it. The old European cups were proper tournaments not the exclusive (and boring) club it is now. Similarly the prem.

Too much money, too much power, too much hype. I'd swap it back in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I saw that on your Twitter profile. The drag outfit and butt plug were not a good look.

I'm right though. Do you really enjoy the predictable nature of the 'locked' down CL these days?
