Our big attacking players have let us down at home this season. Ibra, Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Mkhitaryan, even Mata have let us down in front of goal. I expect all to get better next season (except Ibra).

Do we deserve top 4? Debatable. But we are still in with a big shout. I still reckon 2 wins and 2 draws could do it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't Liverpool and City has the easier run ins rather than us? We are a depleted squad that is almost running on empty now and we have to go and play Arsenal, and Spurs both away and sandwiched between two Europa League games to a Spanish side that have nothing else to play for. A lot to ask of the current available squad now, no?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
East run ins don't suit Liverpool atall. City are a bit like on in terms of leaving points behind them so who knows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Although it's still possible to get into the top 4, i think our injury crisis will have too much of an effect on the outcome in the end. I think Jose will now edge his focus more slightly towards the Europa League. However, this is still very risky as there's no guarantee we will win it under current conditions.Either Lyon or Ajax will be no pushovers in the final.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd fancy us against Ajax to be fair. They're behind Feyenoord in their who we dispatched with ease at OT and should have beaten away despite being abysmal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah i get what you mean, but i still think they have some quality in them to even get this far. They maybe the easier of the two possible finalists and if i had a choice between the two then i'd pick them.

No chance we'll lose to celta. You guys are making out like they are a top European club, I'd understand if atletico Madrid stood in our way (even with a fully fit squad), but we really shouldn't lose this.,

Pogba isn't to blame

He's set up a huge amount of chances for people

The biggest reason we may not get top 4?

Our attackers. A more lethal attack and no one blames Pogba for these draws
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I partially agree Robb he has also been very wasteful in front of goal himself.

The guy could easily be pushing 15-20 goals this season with the chances he has had yet he's on 7.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

True

But his onus is more on creation than scoring and he's created a lot

But players keep missing chances

This summer we need a striker who guarantees 30+ goals a season

I know of a guy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know who you're thinking of. I'd take him in a heartbeat
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't think Fellini is the answer up front.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really gutted he's banned
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Breaks my heart
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't worry, i'm sure jose will brighten up your day by playing Fellaini in the Europa in some form

I was actually surprised they knocked Schalke out. I thought Schalke would have won that. So i guess that gave me the impression that they still have some sort of qualities left in them.

Pogba would haven't won us either game tbh. He isn't a player who controls a whole game like people want him to be.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

He doesn't need to control a game

He just needs to put decent forward balls through which as was proven by a poster on here the other day, were on but Fellaini for all I like him as a player, just can't do

Pogba would have played in Rashford and Martial far better than Fellaini can

Maybe but we would have created more. Out of our home draws, today and West Brom were the worst two performances imo. Both games without Pogba.

The other draws were just compiled of missed chances.

For all Pogba's current faults/flaws he can still pick a better ball out to our strikers than Fellaini can.

Fair point and and I agree with.

However, the way we played in both games, we didn't deserve a point, never mind 2. The negativity in our play is the issue, not the players on the field.

Cards on the table now....have we been good enough for top 4? I don't think we can honestly say we have.
............
If we finish in the top 4... We have deserved it.. simple

City and pool have had some dreadful games too

Chelsea and Spurs are the only good teams, this season

Disagree with the OP.

Go back 30 years to when a win was worth two points and we'd be in 3rd.

It's not our form or consistency that has let us down, it's the point system. A point system which essentially rewards defeats...

Baring in mind Pogba has set up the most clear cut chances that our team has failed to put away id say we have missed him and you cannot attribute those draws do him. The previous draws we created a ton load

I'd be happy with that. Also could you imagine if you were awarded a point per goal scored, with the goals against being negative. Be like the ancient days when everyone played 2-3-5 formations.
