Bet uncle ken is happy with a guaranteed away end sell out and being on sky the first game. Sunderland h may be a blow in that respect being midweek. I won't be going to half the number of aways I did last year. There was an element of novelty about going to loads of new grounds last year and tickets weren't that dear. Prices are higher in the championship. Also Norwich the only ground not been to.

rumour spreading we are out of embargo just as St Edwin posted a tweet of himself raising a glass sending thanks for the TV payments he expects to be rolling in next season.

So it's looking like a 7 game warm up to the Leeds match let us hope nobody rushes to fill the sick bed previously occupied on a long stay contract by M Davies.
Should we be running a sickbed sweep whoever names the first long term injury to occupy the vacated bed gets a week off work.

David Ball,Jimmy Ryan & Coner McLaughlin have all turned down contracts with Fleetwood and were there 3 best players, they say they have had offers from the championship, could any be heading our way.
Ball forward.
Ryan midfield.
McLaughlin right back.

Nicely club is Fleetwood I'm wary if they are letting folk go to me it would signify they have better lined up to replace them. Are we looking at the right ones do we need a spy in the camp over there to find out who the replacements will be.

Ball already gone to Rotherham.

Rotherham that's not a good move !!🤔

Rumours circulating that Clayton is joining Blackpool on a free transfer...

posted on 22/6/17

I know Benny will shout at me but I'd rather keep Wilko them Mad Max. I shall now hide and hope the hit squad can't find me.

posted on 22/6/17

As Clayton is under 24 bolton are entitled to a fee. Sounds like they did not offer him a contract at all. We're not very good at this malarkey. Remember signing hall on a free then getting screwed over by the tribunal? Could bite bolton back badly this.

Imagine the headline if he makes it would be Maxamillion in the Beano

Pp not one for signing youngsters. Of the retained or signed already only madine is under 28. Wants wilko and proctor out. Going to have a squad average age 28/30 and only Josh Vela under 25.

posted on 23/6/17

Oh Benny and we thought PP might sneak a young Alex into his thoughts either of the two would do to at least show willing our hopes are dashed before the season starts.
We shall cheer the young Alex's on hoping they score plenty and win a coach trip some far away football club.

I stole this thinking which fits with Benny's comment this morning.

We only have Vela, Derik and Wabara in their mid twenties who's value might possibly increase doesn't that say we need a lucky promotion or bankrolling to the premiership to be able to make real money and compete in the real world if we don't grow our own how are we to trade successfully in todays football world we are obviously not looking to buy low sell high at the moment are we.

posted on 23/6/17

Wabara has gone. Forgot we had perry signed as professional. Whats the odds on derik having a great season then going on a free next summer when his contract runs out next summer ala alonso.

posted on 23/6/17

Will Proctor be going to Rotherham, now they have signed Ball from Fleetwood.🤔

posted on 23/6/17

Sorry Benny I forgot Wabara had gone it's been a long hot summer so far it affects the mind.
So when will we turn a profit and have any spare to spend. Time for a sweep me thinks

Confirmed Max has left to exercise the donkeys on Blackpool beach.

That should keep him fit.

Tinkering of the fixtures as we are on the Sunday telly against Leeds the Crewe away Cara thingy cup game has moved to the Wed night the 9th Aug.

I hope Benny didn't buy a super advance saver for the Tues night it can't be used on the following night

All set for Jay leaving then it appears the only hope for him staying is if nobody wants him and he swallows hard and takes the pay cut how long will PP keep a slot open just in case.
Could the impossible happen and PP be forced to name a youngster in a slot if Jay toddles off with insufficient time to drop a freebie/loan in there.

Interesting to see Fleetwood and Preston picking up strikers from PL clubs this embargo will have a knock on effect down the line if we are not careful will they not come to us as they know the numbers game and PP's age phobia will strangle any chance of first team appearances this type of player moving a round are the ones who we would normally see appearing in the first team and pushing for a more permanent place and forming a future promotion team. As it is we have to carry our spares in the numbers we are allowed limited chances and restricting the development of other players. Will we ultimately pay a higher price for this further down the line ? Finally has the " we are a trading club" motto been officially scrapped and replaced by " we will sell to survive " if so why haven't we seen it quoted in that great local daily comic.

In brief
If we cannot attract the players who we can buy low and sell high or make a big impact and help us gain promotion after being with us for a year or two due to the numbers influencing their decision how will we survive and pay us bills and debts even if we just plod along in the Championship and don't drop again.

WANDERERS have registered their interest in taking West Ham pair Josh Cullen and Reece Burke on loan this season.

The two highly-rated youngsters have worked with Phil Parkinson before at Bradford City and are on the Whites’ shortlist if the Hammers decide to send them out for more experience.

Cullen was considered last season before a surplus of midfielders in the Wanderers camp made the manager look elsewhere.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has got four senior appearances under his belt with West Ham and has been tipped for a regular spot in Slaven Bilic’s squad this time around.

But Parkinson has marked the 21-year-old’s card if his club decides a year in the Championship would be better for his development and the Whites could have a midfield spot to fill if Jay Spearing’s contract talks do not go according to plan.

Whereas Wanderers may have to sit and wait to see if Cullen is allowed out on loan this term, West Ham have already indicated Burke will be available after a spell with Wigan Athletic last season was blighted by injury.

In May, Hammers co-owner David Gold controversially expressed doubts about whether his club’s younger players would be able to push past senior professionals to command a regular Premier League spot.

Since then, defender Reece Oxford has been loaned out to German giants Borussia Monchendgladbach.

Wanderers would be able to offer regular football and have the fact Parkinson is well-known to both players counting in their favour.

Burke played under the Whites boss at Bradford two years ago and won the Bantams’ player of the year award aged just 19.

He is primarily a centre-half and has 12 appearances for his parent club, including experience in the Europa League.

Parkinson is on the lookout for competition across his defence but reports of interest in former Swindon Town centre-back Raphael Branco – now at Portuguese club Boavista - have been strongly denied by sources at the Macron.

Wanderers will begin their pre-season training this morning with a series of fitness tests, leading up to their first friendly at Chorley.

It looks increasingly unlikely that Spearing will sign and are two youngsters from Westham going to fill the void? I doubt it but hey, we have no money so we will have to have whatever we can get.

I do wish the Beano would state what the impact on the head count something like this would have if it actually happened. It's difficult enough trying to work out the numbers then work out the cover and competition for places before realising any injuries and PP's thinking throws any assumptions out of the window.
Life was so much easier before all this technology and information when you'd turn up first game of the season and read all about the squad and start the learning process of putting faces to names and numbers.
