I wrote a bitcoin wallet password cracker about 5 years ago. It's definitely a bubble as the actual daily transaction volume for the entire currency is less then that of your local tesco supermarket. The currency controls in China are fueling it at the moment as residents are getting very nervous.

I've started it recently. Ethereum has well over doubled in value in the last few weeks

i need to check one of my old wallets from 6 years ago, think ive got like .2 of a bitcoin left.. was like $10 a coin at the time

Will the daily transaction volume not increase though as more and more businesses start to accept it as a method of payment?

The ideas behind block chaining seem reasonable (very difficult to corrupt, etc.). Not professing to be an expert by any means but a lot of large banks seem interested in it...

Adam, if you do it's now worth about £400...

Bitcoin is almost $2,500 dollars now so you've a nice little profit there.

I bought five ethereum for just over 70 euro each and the value of them is beginning to approach a grand. Regret not investing more but still probably will.

Almost seems too good to be true.

Digital currency is fascinating I've not ever invested or anything but working in finance (on the digital side so not actually working with money directly) I find it so interesting how it all works and how it could theoretically replace paper money

It's unregulated, so totally. I know the updates to the multi gigabyte wallet are a pain, but the sites are too attractive for crooks to scam you.

There a couple of guys currently buying into Ethereum Classic (ETC) which is fairly new compared to BTC & ETH.

They are currently priced at €14.60 an increase of €11+ (nearly 400%) in a single month. They were only €8.03 this time yesterday.

Does anybody know what sites are 'safe' for purchasing/selling, since a simple google search gives multiple sites

It's not too risky if you use one of the main sites but then transfer it in to your local wallet on your PC. Don't hold it online.

Well after purchasing 5 ETC for €80 a couple of weeks ago, They weren't moving anywhere so I transferred them to ETH last week and my €80 are now worth €120.

Also in the process of building a mining rig.
