He's been class for Roma, just because he didn't make it under negative Nancy Mourinho doesn't mean he's not a good player ask KDB and Lakaku

Klopp will get the best out of him.

He was 21 when he signed for Chelsea, didn't get much of a look in under Mourinho and went to Italy where he excelled and had a great season last time.

He's another player with blistering pace.

We can worry about that next season

Ridiculous to dismiss a player who did have some good games at Chelsea but didn't quite catch on, he was 21 and not playign for a manager who would utilize his attacking talent.

His stats at Roma are pretty much 1 in 2, he is extremley quick and we need more pace in our attack.

And as for AFCO, again nonsense to be worried about losing a player for a month really, yes Mane going wasn't ideal but we shoudl be able to cope with it in 2 years time.

I'd have him for sure excellent addition to us, reckon he will shock people ala Mane.

Was mane a shock? I certainly wasn't shocked in the least, he'd been electric in the Prem for two years and had his fair share of admirers around Europe, including Bayern according to my German mate.

By all means I'd be happy to sign him. Just does that mean we'll need another winger this time next year to cover for ACON? Maybe Ojo or Wilson will make the step up...

I'm not a fan but hopefully he can produce similar numbers to those in Italy.

plenty of grumbles last summer when we signed him, "another Saints player" etc."not good enough" blah blah, not so much on here but seen plenty of unhappy reds.

That's not exactly true is it. He had looked great in patches and pretty average a lot of the other times. Let's not forget he was dropped from the Saints team on more than one occasion.

If that's the case then fair enough, but every time I saw him for the saints he looked brilliant. In particular in his second season there.

Spot on. He was extremely patchy for Soton but when he was on form then he was electric. The consistency of performances he's shown this year have absolutely surprised me.

As for Salah, he joined Chelsea from the Swiss league at the age of 21 and was then expected to make an impact from brief substitute appearances. That's a tough ask! The league will have been a huge step up in quality, the competitions for places he'll never have experienced before and he got no time to settle.

I really wouldn't read too much into his 13 appearances for Chelsea. It's a concern certainly but not an overwhelming one for me. Apparently (I don't watch Italian football) he's been excellent for Roma and his stats would seem to support this.

If signed I'd be happy we're looking to add pace and goals to the squad. We've all seen how much we miss Mane's directness when he's not in the team.

I bet he regrets choosing Chelsea over us a couple of seasons ago. That is if it's true we wanted to sign him then.

We could have ended up selling him or something, atleast hes a better player now despite us having to pay alotmore

To be honest, the challenges he faced at Chelsea (huge jump in league quality and being a very young player in a new environment) would have been the same with us. And he probably would have had substitute appearances to prove himself, albeit probably more of them.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but we might actually benefit from him continuing his footballing development in Italy before we get him. If we get him. No guarantees he'd have succeeded with us 3 years ago either.

Not a terrible player but £28m is way too much and this is not the sort of signing that's going to help us push on. No thanks.
