28 has been rejected, it will be more like 35 mil by the time it's done.
He'll add more pace to the front three and will allow coutinho to drop back into midfield in certain games. I'm excited by the potential signing.
As I mentioned on the tranny thread United and Chelsea are looking to pay £45-50m for Ivan Perisic. Salah is a better player and going for possibly £35m will be a good deal.

Has Mane played as a number 9 before? He sure knows where the net is but it's a different ball game when you are central.

Not a terrible player but £28m is way too much and this is not the sort of signing that's going to help us push on. No thanks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do you think he won't push us on?
Very pacey wide forward and it was obvious how much we missed that directness when Mane was out.
This season for Roma he's played 31 games, scored 15 and assisted 11. So that's 26 goals he's scored or created in 31 games.
I don't watch Italian football enough to know whether those stats are flattering but they're encouraging surely?
The only down side to Salah is that he would also be missing during the ACON.
That would mean Liverpool's 2 main wide players out for most of January.

We've got another year to deal with that. Ojo will be a world class winger by then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Moreno will be pushed forward into the Gareth Bale role.
It's no coincidence both were unsuccessful fullbacks.
Can see him emulating Mane's season for us
28m is a steal. Especially if the current prices that players are being bough for at the minute.
Salah scored 15 and assisted 13 in 31 games last year. That's a phenomenal return. As, with Mane, all you really want as a manager and a fan is that the player can come into your team and replicate.
People would rather spend 40 million on Douglas Costa, but based on what? Hes never scored more that 6 goals in a single season - and that's playing in two very dominant sides in Bayern and Shakhtar.

When you say you can see this happening, is this after you've popped across to the Emirates to borrow some of what they've been smoking?!

If wouldnt cry over either if they came, both offer somethnig we need
TBF, he wasn't given much chance at Chelsea and was young at the time.
Wouldn't mind him but not really a signing that is hugely exciting either.
Think a lot people who are turning their noses up at him haven't even watched a Roma game in the last couple of seasons. Looks a different player from his time at Chelsea who are well known to stifle youth players from opportunities and just ship them out on loan.
Klopp needs pacy and direct wingers to play his game, Mane added that but we need more. Not many out there who are better and are a realistic target.
I'm relucant to push for players who had no interest in joining us.
But from all accounts, he has been very good for Roma.
You could argue that the Italian league isn't as great as it was but either way, £28m in this day and age isn't excessive.
He's going to cost something similar to what Mane cost last season, £32m rising up with performance add ons.
Can't see the problem with it!
And they only go to the ACON if they're team qualifies.
AFCON shouldnt be in anyones thinking.
Its two seasons away.
We should only focusing on strengthening our squad for the coming season.

You don't know the details
Quality player imo, has real quality and versatility. We will have frightening pace on the counter with him and Mane.
28m got rejected so its not 28m.
Happy with this, We need more pace up front and he's a decent player, and I haven't seen him at Roma!
Why worry about the AFCON? we can just win the league every other season, fairer all round that way
