200mln for Kane ????

Sorry but for £200 million they can have him, easily sign two top strikers for less than half the fee and improve the rest of the squad with the remainder.

I wouldn't seel for 200 million despite it being a ridiculous price.

Reason being Spurs don't actually need the money to invest in the squad, they have money, like all clubs so are better off adding players to a squad that contains Kane as opposed to trying to build a squad without him.

Yes they ca nspend big to replace him but no guarantee that will work, Kane is clearly happyat Spurs and just gets better and better, and while I can't speak for Spurs fans I would imagine they would all much prefer to see Kane banging in goals for them as opposed to say Lacazette or someone, would mean more to the fans.

the other issue is that even with a truck load of cash, you're not guaranteed to be able to buy the players you want...if spurs offer monaco £150m for mbappe, does he sign for them? or does he end up at madrid, for a lower fee? can you buy suarez from barca for £100m, or would the club not want to sell and the player not want to leave?

if everyone knows you have £200m burning a hole in your pocket, all that happens is that the prices of second rate players shoot up (see also united's transfer dealings over recent years).

kane has scored 20 goals or more in each of the last 3 PL seasons, i can't think of too many players in world football who could guarantee you that, and even fewer who would want to leave their current club for spurs (aguero maybe? cavani at a push)

We didn't spend the Bale £80m well as a point of reference

Would be a ridiculous sum of money to say no to, but they'd have to sack Moanrinho first. Couldn't have him running Kane's goal ratio by playing him at left back and occasionally chasing Fellaini's bad first touch.

Billy, carry on calling him the special once, I know you like it but just remember, whatever you think of him, he won 2 trophies in his first season at United
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Two second tier cups which they had to focus on when they realized they were not good enough to finish in the top four.

I think United fans were actually celebrating 3 trophies..... The Charity shield is now a major trophy in their warped sense of reality

United fans can boast all they want about trophies etc and yes fair enough you won 2 trophies but let's be honest, united have really fallen from grace where you have gone from being league/CL winners/ contenders every season to scraping league cups and Europa league wins. A few seasons ago these sort of trophies would of been secondary in your season by a country mile. United don't have the pull or attraction luke years ago and that's a fact. Maybe to some foreign guy who's looking for a large pay check but for someone like Kane, would take a Madrid or Barcelona to tempt him.... certainly not united. Not a chance Kane will ever play in a united shirt.

Surely the point is that Spurs are building a team for the future with a top manager dedicated to just that purpose.
A cart load of players does not a team make!
Its how the individuals in the group get along, and understand one another, that makes a group into a team.
Kane should be going nowhere, not even for 200mil.
Neither Alli, nor Wanyama, nor lloris, et al.
And just for the record ... we're a bigger club than Manu now. Their days are gone.... along with SAF.
Goodbye Manchester!

Wouldn't sell for any price

Also not as simple as saying we can buy 2/3 world class with the money - understand that we won't pay massive wages

posted on 26/6/17

Rather than selling players and buying expensive replacements we should be using all this extra TV revenue to pay our current top players the going rate, and keep this excellent team together.

Keep this group together and add 3 or 4 quality additions to strengthen the squad, and we could possibly have a serious title challenge.

7th, 4th, 5th and 6th in recent seasons says otherwise, unless it's in comparison with West Brom

Kane is priceless to us while he wants to remain at the club. The money is irrelevant. Won't find a better replacement for a frontman anywhere for this league.

Agree - you won't find better. Proven Prem goalscorer. But whether you like it or not the stadium move will be costly and selling one of your prime assets (Kane or Alli) would help you immeasurably. You've only got to look at my club (Arsenal) to see how moving stadium can mean having to sell your best players for the greater long-term good.

Perhaps a better bet would be for your guys to keep the likes of Kane (who is so symbolic of Spurs' rise in stature) and sell others like Walker, Eriksen, Rose and even Lloris and make the cash you need that way?

football is a business, therefore the money is never irrelevant. particularly for the project we are currently undertaking.
