Apparently no Barnett Formula money for Scotland and Wales neither. Could the Tories be more blatant?

This is the price we pay for a hung parliament and a minority government I am afraid.

With a more even balance, a coalition is not necessarily a bad thing.

If Labour had had another 20 seats and had to govern this way, I expect Plaid, ScotNats and anyone else involved would want a slice of the pie.

Ledley

Maybe true maybe not, the opposition parties are all anti austerity, but regardless, it poses the question about the purpose of years of cuts and hard-edge austerity, all the savings made then the 'magic money tree' is used to spend millions on an unnecessary election and a billion on a political deal, with the main party of an area of the UK that is already disproportionately subsidised and that is already accused of financial incompetence in regard to the public purse.

The only balance in this arrangement (not coalition) is with the right wing of the Tory party and the religious zealots in the DUP, equally barmy.

I do not agree with it myself Hec, but it is what it is and this is how the dice fell.

The LibDems got a big bung in 2010. They got a referendum to change our democratic process out of the coalition. Something there was no mandate for. The minor parties pound of flesh would be taken one way or another, and nobody can blame them.

Personally I think May should have handed her notice in, and when another leader was elected we should have gone to the polls again. Even if it meant Corbyn had a chance.

Just arguing the toss Ledley and agree about May resigning and <sigh> rerunning the election.

The Liberal referendum on AV was, arguably a democratic deal as opposed to a straight cash one, they were also in coalition government (for all the good it did them) and not just in a loose certain vote pact
