I blame Moyes... 30 million on Fellaini... Thats where it started

Keita is great but not £70m great this market is bonkers.

Now let's go spunk £160m on Mbappe

It`s the financially doped clubs fault, $ity and Ch$lsea have inflated wages and transfer fees to the point of ridiculous

The fees are ridiculous. My interest in the game is slowly eroding.

I like it. I think mainly because LFC have made so many bad transfers over the years this market makes any wumming about transfer cost redundant.

United are just as, if not more guilty.

89 million for Pogba, 30 million for someone who has funny hair and can't play football very well.

Naby Keita is going to be the best player in the world by the look if things. He plays DM/CM and can dribble like he is hazard or messi. To be honest he is what people thought Pogba was.

That’s bad news for the clubs tying to ruin the game by spending way over the odds on average players, like City, Chelsea and Liverpool and great news for United who bring through youth like Rashford, Cleverley and Janujaz. A victory for proper clubs.

This bubble will eventually burst

Spending and valuations of players has become a joke

£89m for Pogba is gonna seem like a bargain after this summer, I think

European clubs know how much the premier league clubs get in tv money so they are doubling the cost of players.

Keita is a fantastic talent and the rumours are we are prepared to pay £50m for him but the £70m+ is a joke

He is going to have to improve a hack of a lot for that to happen, Ji.

Not saying it isn't going to happen, mind.

The FA and the greed of the PL is to blame. If the FA made more fixtures available for TV and scrapped the 3pm rule it would give the Premier League less flexibility to strongarm BT and Sky into a bidding war for the limited rights.

purely from a united viewpoint, 15 years ago we spent £30m on ferdinand, when our revenues were c. £180m; our record signing is now some french bloke at £90m, and our revenues this year will be c. £550m.

in other words our transfer fees are no crazier than they were (though our purchases have undoubtedly been sh!tter)

But if we signed him and he stayed for a long time would the extra 20 actually matter when we could just sell a young player like ibe and recover the fee.. if hes takes us up a level its worth overpaying abit, not like hes 28

15 years ago we spent £30m on ferdinand,

And the same on Wazza.

And more recently, Groot.

We got more than our money's worth with the first two.

Oh well, as Jim Steinman wrote, 'two out of three ain't bad'

We also wouldn't have won the treble.

No, not the proper treble of league, FA cup and champs league.

Or Mickey Mouse treble of Europa, FA cup and league cup.

No, the minnie mouse treble of Europa, League cup and charity shield.

All Hail, Fellaini!

You're being glib but the fact is he was a key player in the final and deserves respect

Of course we could have beaten Ajax without him but is sad our fans don't give credit where it's due

As for the high prices in the game - there nothing really wrong with it

Absolutely huge amounts of money is coming into the game from TV deals and sponsorship

I'd rather that go to buying players rather than solely going into the owners pockets

And as I've said before, these high prices are good for the game at all levels.

For example - Sunderland get £30 million for Pickford, Sunderland then spend the money on players from a lower side and then money trickles down the pyramid and so on. Wealth distribution throughout the game when big money is spent

A lot of the money goes abroad though, and so not working it's way down the pyramid.
