United fans spouting on online message boards all day. They need to get out more.

A sense of entitlement amongst some of our fans. We have no divine right to win everything so we shouldn't turn our noses up at the League Cup for example.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

OP - so the thing you hate most about your club is not actually about your club, it's the media

Diafol - agree with your comment. It's something I generally hate about many fans of big clubs, the sense of entitlement and the idea that football is only about winning things. There are hundreds of clubs with fans that only exist for the love of the game and yet fans of big clubs act like they're entitled to success and if they don't get it act like petulant children. Sadly Liverpool have many such fans.

To be fair to the OP my gripe wasn't directly aimed at the club either but, having said that, I do think it's relevant.

United have existed since 1878 and in that time have won just over 40 trophies. That's about a trophy every three seasons so every season you win a trophy is an above average one. I'd say that you have pretty much the same win ratio.

I know, based on budget, we should be challenging every season, and that is the expectancy, but if we ultimately don't win anything that season it isn't the end of the world. Sometimes it's OK to put your hands up and say 'well done' to the better team.

True but I tend to view fans as part of the club. Certainly should be anyway!

Yeah, completely agree. I've seen my team rule Europe and win everything and I've seen them win nothing for years and play some very average stuff. Still support them either way. Trophies are the icing on the cake to me, not the reason itself.

At the risk of being a bit ageist, I suspect it's because I'm a little bit older and have a bit more perspective. The sense of entitlement in the millennials is nuts

I don't hate anything.

There are a few things I am not chuffed with.

1. The debt the Glazer's saddled us with.

2. Groot playing in the first XI

3. The dire football we played at the end of last season.

4. Lack of proper guidance to Ed during the transfer windows.

Also the guy that runs the tannoy system at OT and plays Glory Glory Man United at half time every game even if we've been shiiit and are losing. Save it for after FT if we've won the game.

Agreed. Alan Keegan.

Same old, same old every week. The way he whispers the away team line up is pathetic.

A tool.

Wouldn't say I hate anything but the atmosphere at OT isn't good enough most of the time.

For example, last season St. Etienne fans never stopped making noise all through the game and away legs.

Our away fans are great to be fair but for home games the pub beforehand has a better atmosphere

I dislike:

1) the fact that I opted out of the League Cup once in several years and completely lost my entitlement to apply for away matches on my season ticket.

2) The prices of merchandise, beers and chow at Old Trafford creeping up year on year, despite record revenues and paying some utter dross millions of pounds a year

3) The bargain basement shopping in the final half a dozen years under Fergie, which left us with an ageing squad that on paper was some distance behind our most significant rivals, and our response to that being botched; firstly with the appointment of Moyes, and exacerbated by paying through the roof prices and wages for past-it players or no-namers, whilst our rivals signed top talents for similar amounts or less. I guess we can summarise #3 as "Glazers and Woodward."

4) The style of football under LvG, which led me to cancelling my season ticket and developing mild apathy towards United in general.

5) Fans who insist Fellaini can "do a job." I'm sure he can, but we don't have a need for a bin man in our match-day squad...

True.

I'll be 40 this year and whilst it still hurts seeing United lose it doesn't hurt as much as it did.

I'll never say it isn't important beacuse, well, it is up to a point. Anything you're willing to spend time and money on is going to affect you but a few years of not winning anything isn't the end of the world.

The funny thing is that when you go a bit without winning when you do win it's all the sweeter. You do tend to get a bit complacent about winning when you're winning every year but I've found that the support I give is probably heightened during times we struggle.

I heard a rumour that you applied for the United manger job once but was turned down because you were over qualified for suitability.

I hate our entitled fans who thinks flashy sexy names are better than the ones who actually fit into the philosophy that our manager is trying to incorporate.
