I might have alone on this but I hope we don't sign AOC. I don't trust him to retain the ball effectively enough in CM and as a wide forward I'm not convinced he's any upgrade on Mane or Salah. Or indeed Coutinho if he plays that far forward. I just don't see the fit for him. Plus he's injured a lot.

LB - I think if Mendy were available then most of the EPL would be looking to sign him. City, Utd, Chelsea (it seems from the pursuit of Sandro) could all do with a LB. Monaco have to retain some players surely!

I've said many times before that I'd go for Rodriguez but it looks like he's off to Milan now. It depends what we're after. If it's a back up then a younger prospect is needed - Chilwell and Robertson fit this category.

Personally I'd now go and ask Barca about Digne. Quality player who can't get into the team because of Alba. Test the water there. But that would be a replacement for Milner because he's not going to swap Barca's bench for ours.

I suspect Milner will be lining up as LB next year and we'll have a new LB squad player. Robertson probably.

Ox as a left back???

He did well at wing back for Arsenal when they switched formation

We already have a right-footed winger who fancies himself as a CM playing at left back...

7 goals is the definition of manipulating stats. They were 7 penalties, which aren't representitive of any attacking threat.

Ok maybe that was a slightly biased stat to present.... but I don't see Clyne scoring any pens...or goals.

On a serious note though Milners chance creation/key pass stat is 56 compared to Clynes 45. That's 20% more!

Milner has been superior to Clyne in all attacking departments. Clyne has shown glimpses of his potential but not enough for me on a consistent basis.

I Would love for him to prove me wrong next season though.

Clyne is much better defensively though. Milner for all the endeavour can be lazy at closing down to attacker when it comes to crossing the ball into our box. You see many times him jogging toward the winger or even challenging the winger to cross the ball than actually close him down.

With Clyne he eats that space away. Obviously he is younger and much quicker but he does lack the forward game.

To be honest I don't understand this urgent need to replace a fullback who has scored 7 goals with 4 assists this season and who has comfortably (in my opinion) out performed his fellow fullback in Clyne (0 goals, 3 assists, 1 extra game) who to be honest is clueless going forward 95% of the time. At least Milner beats players now and again and puts in a decent ball. I believe RB is a bigger problem especially against teams that sit deep. Maybe I'm being harsh? Am I the only person who thinks this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well 7 penalties let's be realistic here.

Right back certainly isn't a problem, Clyne has been decent since he signed, no issues there. I think the issue is having no balance as our left back is right footed and has put in a handful of left footed crosses all season, just makes us one dimensional down that side.

Mendy is going to City.

Bertrand is an interesting one, if City sign Mendy as expected is he really going to go to City and risk being in the same position he was in at Chelsea? Chelsea have been linked with a move for him back but again it's the same there with Alonso.

So Bertrand could be available possibly and I would sign him if I were Klopp. Robertson appears our choice though after Mendy chose City and Sessegnon decided to stay put. I think we are just waiting for the Mendy deal to complete and then we will probably sign Robertson who will be back up/rotation with Milner.

Admittedly I think he will have a lot more of a chance at City than he did at Chelsea. Pep does like to rotate fullbacks.
