I'd say despite what's being reported and what quotes come out in public, the deals we're interested in are still pretty much on the cards.

I think it's safe to say that Klopp wanted Brandt for that left side but once we found out Brandt will not move we moved onto to Salah.

When Gotze fluffed us around, we signed Mane.

It leads me to believe that both Klopp & Edwards will move onto other targets if they realise that the deals are dead for sure.

We'll sign at least one of them I'm sure of it.

Or Brandt told us he would rather stay at Leverkusen...probably with assurances that Bayern will sign him the end of this coming season.

VVD has apparently told Southampton he only wants to join us, and Gerard Houllier works for Red Bull. I'd say both deals could still well happen.

Why would people assume that we don't have backup options for these two players? Mane was a back-up for Gotze. Gini was a third choice back-up for Zeilinski and Dahoud. I'm sure we have other options lined up.

People need to chill out. The window is open for another 7 weeks. It's easier to sign players when you're essentially shopping in primark e.g. Charlie Adam, Danny Wilson, Stuart Downing. But when you are dining at the top table, I imagine that things get a bit more difficult.

It's actually refreshing to see clubs taking the power back form the players. With all the money in football nowadays, clubs are under no pressure to sell. I like it. It's just a pity it's at our expense at the minute.

Yeah people need to relax. We're going at the same speed as the rest of our rivals at the moment. It's not like we're dragging our feet whilst they're signing players left and right.

Quite worrying because last time we missed out cause targets were not available he made do. Don't think thats much of an option now with CL. I don't think we should panic buy but we should surely have 2 or 3 alternatives per target lined up?

Its still early days though windows been open a week? and has 7 left?

posted on 10/7/17

We will definitely have backup targets. Klopp and everyone else at the club knows we need players.

posted on 10/7/17

We know absolutely nothing of what's going on behind the scenes either way. Players are only now starting to return for preseason training and things should start taking pace.

It's not a week before the window shuts, we've got time so just chill out and relax.

we also have players coming back from injury, just hope we have luck with injuries this season

Is it time for Klopp to drop the nice act and also let his frustrations known?

-----------------------------

Why would anyone assume that Klopp is frustrated? And even if he is, whats to say he hasn't already let the bosses know?

The OP doesn't seem to be about how Klopp is feeling at all, rather it's a projection of how Kash is feeling.

As other have said...Relax.

Manfrom, nothing has been leaked though. If that was the case these kind of things always come out. I think Klopp is playing a dangerous game relying on the transfer committee.

Rest of the rivals have much bigger and better squad depth than us. We crumbled last season because we had to play a month more than one game a week. We are still playing catchup from that deficiency.

We struggled because of injuries to several first team players. Lallana, Hendo, Sturridge, Coutinho and Gini, were all injured around the same period and Mane was off to AFCoN and Matip was banned.

You take 3-4 first team starters out of any team and they will struggle. All of our rivals don't have much more that a 13-14 players capable of challenging for a first team place beyond that,he rest are all fillers.

But we don't know if he is or isn't relying on the committee!

What I do not get is, if Liverpool are not going to sign VVD for 70mil, then why the frig did they not go in for Rudiger when Chelsea signed him for half the price as what VVD would cost ?

Unless LFC are confident of signing VVD.

posted on 10/7/17

Is Rudiger any good? Never heard of him before Chelsea bought him.

He was awesome in the Confederations Cup just gone. Very quick, good in the air and liked a tackle as well.

Chelsea have signed a gem of a player.

Cos Rudiger is chit.

I'm not so sure about that. Some AsRoma fans are happy he's gone. Yes, he's a beast physically, but lacks a footballing brain. Has poor vision/anticipation but makes it up with his speed and tackles. So a bit like Luiz but without the footballing skills :D

Plenty of time left for Klopp, I actually like the way he does business. Only signing players if they are exactly what he wants.

As for Rudiger, all the attributes but clanger prone.

posted on 10/7/17

You're not actually in the CL proper yet either. Maybe that could be holding up deals. Could you imagine spending £150m and getting an awkward knock out tie and go out before the group stage. It's not unthinkable.

posted on 10/7/17

Maybe Klopp doesn't show anger because at this early stage of the window it's not time to panic.

Also there probably are deals being done behind closed doors, just because it's not reported in the media doesn't mean it's not happening.
