Whilst I'd be a bit meh at paying £25m - £30m for the Ox, I think he'd be a great signing on a free.

Possibly, although I think the system we currently play would be fine if we had a VVD-Matip partnership at the back. Especially if Keita was in front of them. We should be rather solid if that happened.

Thought keita was more of a box to box player, still think if Henderson is fit he plays.

Stick to 433 it works well for us.

He is but he sounds versatile. A bit of Iniesta and a bit of Kante as an expert said a few weeks ago. So in that case he could probably be utilised more defensively in tougher games and just break up play.

Can't see it. As far as I'm aware Klopp hasn't used 3 at the back for any sustained period (i.e. not a specific tactic for a specific team); I can't see why he'd change his approach now.

Conte is a 3 at the back man. Fair enough, worked well at Juve and looked good for Chelsea. Klopp's always been a 4 at the back manager.

I'm fascinated to see what happens to Lallana next season. I thought he'd be a casualty of Klopp - not quick enough. I was wrong. Very wrong.

However with the pace men on the wings you'd think Coutinho would fall back which would surely threaten Lallana's place? Harsh given his performances.

I can see our midfield being:

I hate trams who copy the fad formation. 3 at the back worked for Chelsea last season then copied by Spurs and Arsenal and god knows who else.

That is a very good team.

I can see Klopp surprising us all with Salah on the right and Mane upfront with Firmino or even on his own. Squad strength trumps first 11 strength over 38 games. The idea I think is to have a preferred style of play and a deep squad to make it work consistently game after game so I think we will see a lot of formations and setups this coming season.

*not formations, just players in different positions.

If (and it's a big if) we sign the players we're linked with then I think Lallana would struggle to make our strongest team. Simply because Coutinho is a better player.

He'll still play 30 odd games in a season though. Equally Can doesn't need to be sold. It's not all or nothing, he just has to prove himself good enough to take Henderson's place.

Milner I think will be 1st choice LB even with Robertson in the squad.
