Had very little chance to show anything, trash minutes with the score 4-0 when he came on. Did have a good chance to score though, put a header a few inches wide of the post.

yes he should have scored that
when he's played 60-70 mins this season he's generally played well, but he's not scoring ...which is always worrying for a forward
Must say, the pitch looked pretty rubbish to play on, way too fast and bouncy.
Didn't realise the Lisbon derby was tonight. Sporting won comfortably and remain unbeaten in the league. Also recovered really well from a horrendous start in the CL. Amorim's name will probably start doing the rounds if they get a good R16 draw and make the quarters.
Ronaldos transfer from Rube 2Manchester Us under investgation by Italian orthorities
Think they r also investigating their deals with Barcelona. Strange, I could not imagine what could be rong.

glad sporting are doing well, they're my favourite Portuguese club ... got a good chance of retaining the title
I see Sarabia scored the opener too

It was an impressive performance especially as they were without Coates and Palhinha. It certainly wasn't all one way or anything but they definitely deserved to win.
Amorim's name has come up in connection with the United job and even though he's clearly a good manager, I wouldn't want him as Sporting as good as they are, they're essentially a defensive team and tend to play on the counter in big games under him and I've had enough of that at United.
That said they are a very well organised side in the way they defend and press under him and are pretty lethal and efficient on the break.
Looking like a good title race in Portugal this season the way things are shaping up.
His record in management is pretty amazing.
Yeah it's insane. He'll surely get a big job either next season or the one after if Sporting continue what they've been doing under him.
The turnaround at that club since the training ground attack has been incredible.
Sarabia's goal was an absolute peach.
TRS, I watched highlights only and going by that yeah, it was hardly one-way traffic. They both definitely had their chances, but it looked like Sporting could've led by more before Benfica had their equaliser ruled out, and globally too it seemed like Sporting had more clear cut opportunities too despite only having about a third of the possession.
I know what you mean about not wanting him at United. I feel the same way as regards Madrid, but I could totally see him getting a tune out of someone like Atleti if they ever get sick of Simeone or he decides to move on - and I think they'd probably be much easier on the eye too.
He could also wind up at one of the big Italian clubs, or might be the man to lift one of the struggling PL clubs out of the doldrums.
This without having seen hardly any of Sporting, but that record in such a short time and barely any top-level experience is (this is almost vomit-inducing to type) Mourinhoesque.

Some interesting games in La Liga today.
Sevilla-Villarreal
Barça-Betis
R.Sociedad-R.Madrid

You're on a decent run at the moment ioag. Tough little period Madrid are in now in La Liga.

It was the eleunt in the room
Roma v Inter and Napoli v Atalanta today also plus Dortmund losing to Bayern too.
Yeah, tough run of games, but we handled a similar stretch last season really well, coming off some really poor form too - albeit that was with ZZ setting us up as tightly as possible, which isn't really something Carlo tends to do.
It's looking increasingly like Madrid and Atleti will pull away from the rest. Sevilla could be in with an outside chance, but the way they lost against Madrid is typical of sides that mentally don't seem to believe themselves capable.

It's going to be so disappointing if Haaland winds up at Bayern.
Gremio on the verge of being relegated from Serie A.
Botafogo coming back up though. Vasco could only manage 10th and Cruzeiro 14th in Serie B.
