Have there ever been Catholic/Protestant dividing lines in the Everton/Liverpool rivalry? I do remember my brother pointing out that the city's Catholic cathedral had been nicknamed Paddy's Wig-wam, but can't clearly remember about the footy thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
everton were seen as the catholic club, liverpool proddy
my grandad was 2nd gen southern irish, from scotland road and a catholic
but he was one of 10 siblings, 5 brothers, 5 sisters
the brothers were split between everton and liverpool, as many families in liverpool were in those days
Right, I thought that was what it was. You ever go to watch Everton?

my granddad and uncles were season ticket holders.
they used to take me to derby matches, cup matches, etc
i remember in the late 80s going to goodison to watch a pre-season match between everton and athletic bilbao, when howard kendall was in charge of them
I bloody love Chelsea. Such an entertaining club.

Never a dull moment. It’s what makes football great.
funny stuff with kepa and sarri, that's for sure
Well that was an odd day of football to say the least.

Dazza, watch this
At least Kepa gave people something to talk about. 210 pretty awful minutes of football today.
Also, I do rmemeber seeing a couple of first half injuries several times before, but I don't think I'd ever seen 4 in total and one team having to make all its subs before the break...and not actually having enough to sub off all the injured players!
Apparently, Atlético have kept 14 clean sheets in the last 15 home games they've played in the knockout rounds of European competitions.
They've also only ever conceded twice in all the CL knockout games (12) they've played at home under Simeone.
Simeone is the BTEC Mourinho

TRS you read up on Jose’s interview in the telegraph tonight?
Chelsea confirm Kepa has been fined one week's wages for his Wembley mutiny
Just sat through another Coppa Italia semi-final between Lazio and Milan and it's ended 0-0 again!
It's like United Villarreal all over again.
Yeah was an awful game. Boring, boring Serie A.
How are you lads feeling about the return of Pep Rodgers to our shores, can't wait for his interviews
Well tbf not actually bothered he’s left more the big game of pretending it’s his dream job only job he’s ever wanted and away to join Leicester who have nothing to play for.
I can’t stand Rodgers. But I get a kick out of hating him so I’m glad he’s back.
You knew the guy was a charlatan Andrew, he always just spoke up for the cameras. Never seen a bigger leech in football management than him, absolute snake.
Could be good for England if he can get some of Leicester’s talented young lads in attack playing well. Maguire playing for Rodgers will be funny, though.
Don’t really think he’s learnt much since he’s been Celtic manager, domestically granted he’s cleaned up but still can’t defend, countless hammering in Europe and he still can only play 1 way. Be interested to see how he does
His transfer record is still shiiit as well going by what the Celtic fans have said on here.
