Looks like they are signing Hermoso as well. He’s meant to be very good. There’s interest in Meres and James. It’s going to be fun watching Simeone destroy all these flair players they’re after. <rof>

Such a bizarre signing. He's moved to a bigger and better club when he has been absolutely rubbish for the last year or so. Yet another dud to add to Someone's list methinks.

I love autocorrect's rendering of Simeone.

It's like he's the Nameless One.

Darren, are you an Android programmer perchance?

Dazza, reports saying that United have put in a bid of £62.1m for Aubameyang Could just be media BS, but would you take that?

Blatantly nonsense, Samir. It’d be a waste of money for us given his age and reliance on pace. It’s obvious we are putting our faith in Rashford for this coming season which is is why Lukaku wants to leave. We won’t then go out and sign a cf like Auba.

posted on 18/7/19

I’m starting to think we won’t even sign a striker if Lukaku leaves because we’ll be stuck with Sanchez, so he’ll likely take up the squad space we’d need to sign a cf.

Darren, it looks like we are still trying to pursue Zaha FFS. Honestly

I would take him if he was around £30m, but Palace want £80m+ for him, which we should not even be contemplating.

Even if we got a CL spot, I still wouldn't want us paying that sort of money for him.

Splurging all our money on Zaha would definitely make us Banter FC.

Move on to other targets man!

posted on 18/7/19

No offence, but I don’t really care because I’m dealing with my own issues - making Maguire the most expensive defender in the world.

Zaha would improve Arsenal but the money Palace want is obscene. Looks like you are interested in Everton, which could be a good alternative.

Ceballos on loan could be a shrewd move as well.

Yeah but you can afford to spend £80m on Maguire and it wouldn't affect your other transfers, whereas we can't afford to spend that sort of money on Zaha without it impacting other positions.

Also, you would get a cut of the transfer fee if the Zaha move came to fruition.

I can't understand why you don't go for Alderweireld. He's £25m and is one of the best centre-backs in the league. Makes so much more sense than Maguire.

We can afford to spend £80m on Mustafi as well, doesn’t mean we should.

I think we are avoiding Alderweireld due to the issues we’ve faced with ageing players on big wages like Sanchez and Matic.

I don’t think it would represent quite the same issue, however, I can understand why we may be looking elsewhere, I just don’t know why it’s Harry Maguire. Plus if the rumours of him going to Roma are true, it’s probably the case that he just wants to play in another league.

Yeah our sell on clause seems to be what is pushing Palace’s valuation up.

It's the FloPo blueprint to success.

Bye, Ronaldo.

Hi, Vinicius.

Oh Gareth, still here, are you?

(Yes, I just compared Lukaku to Ronaldo! )

Zidane, in not so many words, has just told Bale to fack off already.

rumour mill saying PSG and Madrid may agree a swap deal, Bale for Neymar

I seriously hope this doesn't happen

Don't want Neymar anywhere near Madrid

Zizou hates Bale.

Neymar and Hazard in the same team would be so much fun to watch. It’d piiiiiiss Barca off beyond belief as well.

posted on 21/7/19

Neymar would be 100 times better than Bale. He brings a lot of baggage and theatrics, but his football is a delight to watch.

Yeah I love watching Neymar play.

I'd gladly trade Bale, Isco and a fair few bob for Neymar.

posted on 21/7/19

Bale's done Isco a massive favour, btw.

In what way?

Where do we think Bale will end up? I’d actually be surprised if he ended up at PSG. The owner and Leonardo appear to be very piiiiiiiissed off with the circus that Neymar has brought, and it seems that they want to avoid the big money, big name, big wage players that has led to a big problem with the attitude in the dressing room.

posted on 23/7/19

Because last season Isco was making a strong case for himself as no.1 target for the fans' anger until Bale threw himself into the spotlight with his hissy fit.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more transfer talk about Isco. Must be the ZZ has offered him a second chance to prove himself.

I'd be massively surprised if the Qataris suddenly decided they didn't want the flashiest, most expensive new toy. It'd completely out of character. Bale's not flashy or new though, just expensive.

Speaking of Bale, his case is actually quite amazing when you think about it. The angle in Britain, of course, is how badly big, bad Madrid have treated him - but his position and standing would be so, so much better position if he'd been a bit less autistic and hadn't played his cards so absolutely horrendously.

Thoughts on Ceballos, ioag? On loan to us for a year.

Looks a very tricky, press-resistant player from the little clips I've seen.

Was hoping for an option to buy but I read he has a 6 year contract.

posted on 23/7/19

I like what I've seen of him, but admittedly it really isn't that much. He's technically sound enough, but needs to play more consistently to show if he's good enough to hack it at the top level.
