it's congenital,,,i've known about it since i was a child
bicuspid aortic valve
interestingly my identical twin brother doesnt have the problem
Well I suppose the good thing is that the doctors will have been on top of it since you were a kid and it's progression will have been closely monitored.
I hope the op goes well. Do you get to choose your surgeon, or just whoever is assigned by the NHS/medical insurance? Either way, this type of procedure is much more common nowadays and cardiovascular surgeons are highly specialised. Will you be having the op up in Liverpool or elsewhere?

it's being done by the NHS (so i won't be able to chose the surgeon), and yeah its at Liverpool CTC (which is handy as my parents and brothers live very close by)
risks for me , given age, and otherwise good physical condition are v low

Just as long as you don't go into a rabid anti-Liverpool rant just as the anaesthetic is taking effect...
Just reading about La Liga contemplating moving the El Classico next week to the Bernabeau because of the political tensions in Catalonia at the moment. Wonder how Barca will feel about that
Statement from La Liga: “We have requested the competitions committee of the RFEF to meet and change the location of ElClásico because of exceptional circumstances beyond our control."
It’s official then

I think Madrid should just travel with a full squad of U-17 reserves draped in Spanish flags and drop them off half a mile from the stadium.
I haven’t been following the situation properly IOAG, but I understand the Spanish jailed a few Catalonians right?
the caused a poor man to have a heart attack and die in the airport

Arab, yeah. The people jailed are the instigators of the unauthorized referendum on independence they tried to hold a couple of years ago. That one where the police marched on the polling stations and clattered some old ladies.
They've received heavy sentences from the Supreme Court, up to 11 or 13 years for the leader of the main Catalan republican/independentist party.
They can and certainly will appeal to the European court of justice and to Spain's constitutional court, but for now they'll have to continue in prison, and Catalonia is in flames. Way over the top punishments imo, but that's what the crime of sedition merits by Spanish law, and it was reached by unanimous decision. Still not as bad as it could've been if they'd sentenced them for the even more serious crime of rebellion, which they also stood accused of.
It should never have come to this, though. It's a political issue that ought to have been solved politically, not through the courts.
Ironically enough, it's the people who make the most noise about defending the unity of Spain who, with their calls for ever-harsher measures against Catalonia, keep pushing more and more formerly moderate Catalans into the arms of the independentists.
Eight or ten years ago they could have nipped this whole movement in the bud if only they had negotiated an authorised referendum on their own terms, back when support for independence was in the low 30 percents. The problem would've been solved before it had even gotten off the ground.
It's too late for that now. The proportion of pro-independence Catalans has grown to about half of the population, and is likely to keep on rising until someone from the central government applies a bit of common sense.
peks Hope it all goes fine when it comes to it.
Did you guys see Pep’s comments about this situation? I thought of peks when I saw it.
Thanks for explaining IOAG, I remember those protests from a while back. Had no idea the court ruling was made now, thought everyone who was responsible were jailed ages ago.
I don't get why the Spanish just don't give them their referendum though, we did with the Scots after years of them nagging us. If they want to go their separate ways, let 'em

Pogba and De Gea ruled out of Sunday, Daz. We're getting raped
It could happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a tight game. They usually are, and Liverpool struggle at Old Trafford.
I can't wait for his video on human rights in the UAE.
Qatar seems to be the go to response for most.
