Still shouldn’t look anywhere near as bad at the back as you do. That’s the most surprising part, not the shiiiiiiit football that was expected.
We’re such a mess.
It has genuinely come as such a surprise cos we signed well over the summer but it has shown how damaging sustained lack of investment is.

Bizarrely the player who has developed the most under him is Winks. Which I would never have guessed:
Football is mad really. I know their reps have taken a bit of a hit recently, but I never envisaged a time where Mourinho and Ancelotti would be managing Spurs and Everton and Ole, Lamps and Arteta would be managing United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Some journalist made a good point I guess. Mou would have been perfect the year before as we were a team who just couldn’t get over the line in terms of trophies. We are just a little too far gone now unfortunately.
Yeah and I’m not sure it’s wise to put a rebuilding job in Mourinho’s hands. If you don’t get top four next season I reckon he’ll be gone.
I actually like him as a character and more than Poch. At least he owns up to his narcissism unlike Poch/Klopp/Pep
I guess it’s less narcissism with Klopp. He is just an a****le a lot of a time
You’ll despise everything about him by the end, don’t worry about that.
Who do you want to replace him?
I’m happy with him for now. Don’t think a replacement is needed until end of next season probably. I’d happily take a league cup and/or a europa next year.
Then a good progressive manager after like in the Poch mould like a Nagelsmann or something. Don’t really know too much about managers at the moment. The best young ones all seem to be German.
Never thought I’d see the day you’d say you’re happy with Mourinho.
That’s fair, though. The manager market seems pretty tough for clubs at the moment. And you only have to look at the names currently at the biggest clubs around.
Liverpool, City, Atleti, Inter and PSG are probably the only ones that have a coach befitting their stature.
Zidane’s won three CL’s and I’m still not sure if he’s a top manager or not.
Yup which is all pretty mad. I hope Klopp isn’t the blueprint for managers to come though, teams purely built on athleticism are the worst
They also without a shadow of a doubt dope. Such a small squad and played about a million games with little rotation. Yeh facking right.
But you loved Poch?
I hope we can get Ten Hag. I’ve longed for that kind of coach for years.

If that was about my dope comment I was talking about Liverpool.
If it was about me not liking Poch. I realised over the Townsend saga he wasn’t quite right and the book he released confirmed that he was a . However he is still the best manager we’ve ever had, I think the job he did was exceptional and is one of the best in the world.
You said teams beat on athleticism are the worst, but you loved Pochettino whose teams are all graft no craft.
I wouldn’t agree, Dembele and Eriksen really are craft & Dele has a good eye for a final through ball.
But Liverpool play with more skill and flair than Poch’s teams did. Spurs’ style of play relied massively on forcing errors. Never got why people outside of Spurs fans found them attractive to watch.
