That’s an interesting point, do you reckon that having more responsibility on the ball is one of these problems as well? I’ve always thought it was a weakness of his, and while he’s improved there since moving to Chelsea, I don’t think his influence has been as good under a more possession based style with Sarri and Lampard as it was under Conte and Ranieri.

I thought the final Conte season was his best season, he actually was quite competent on the ball that year but mainly as a ball carrier/quick progression through driving runs. However his final pass that season was decent - albeit it still wasn’t possession football.

Kovacic has been awesome this season, he’s an outside shout for ToTY. I still really like Jorginho as well, he is so smart in possession.

I can’t wait until (if) Ndombele finally clicks for us. His performances vs Liverpool away and Norwich over Christmas are some of the greatest midfield performances I have ever seen from a Spurs player - and I’ve had the pleasure to watch Modric and Dembele live.

Would be interesting to see him in a midfield two with Kovacic with a back 5. I don’t know who the three at the top would be anymore.

Tbh I don’t even know who’s even good at Chelsea anymore. I thought you guys were certain to finish out of the top 6 this season, but find yourselves 4th cos everyone else has been so shiiiite.

You’re not allowed to say that, you’ll upset the scousers.

Chelsea in theory shouldn't have been anywhere near 4th given their circumstances, so it's still somewhat impressive for them to be in the position they are when none of us would have thought it.

That said, I don't think anyone expected Spurs, United or Arsenal (Arsenal especially) to be as poor as they have been.

I thought they’d be there or thereabouts at the start of the season. But yeah I didn’t expect everyone else to be so bad, especially Spurs.

Chelsea have been pretty shiiiiit themselves most of the season anyway. They had a purple patch around October that established their position. Aside from that their form has been poor, at times relegation standard stuff.

Yeah, I agree. I just never envisaged Chelsea being the ones to be the least shiiit out of all the aforementioned clubs.

Even though you've done the double over them, they still took 4 points off us and 6 off of Spurs. That could be crucial in determining who gets 4th spot.

I genuinely thought we had a great shot of getting 4th. I wasn't convinced at all by OGS nor your owners/Chief Exec to make the right decisions. Spurs, aside from their flukey European run, had been in diabolical domestic form from January last year and there were already mumblings over Summer that Pochettino and Levy had a strained relationship. Chelsea I obviously had down as finishing well outside the top 4 due to the transfer ban, Hazard sale and reliance on players with limited top-flight experience.

So, when you look at it like that, Arsenal seemed the most 'settled' from those sides and (on paper) strengthened their team compared to the previous year.

How naive I was

Yeah that’s true. Strange thing about Arsenal, though, is that they don’t actually lose many games. You’ve only lost six, which along with Wolves, is the fewest after Liverpool. But you’ve both drawn thirteen.

I’m not convinced by Ole but we’ve done worse than expected. Injuries haven’t helped, especially the ones to Pogba and Rashford. I think we’d be in the top four right now had they both been available for most of the season. But it was our own fault for going into the season so unprepared in attack and midfield.

Yeah, I forgot how many games we drew . Most of them deserved tbh.

Emery is such a bad coach man, should've just got rid after the EL final.

I’d say a lot were undeserved as well, Leno and Auba bailed you out so many times. I honestly think you’d be in a relegation battle if those two had got bad injuries this season.

And to think, he’s only won one less trophy than Tottenham have in the last fifty years.

They’re really squeezing the games in. Eleven games over five weeks, we’re doing nine over the same timeframe.

That’s a weekend and weekday game every week for five and a bit weeks. Barca, Atleti and Madrid are gonna be facked by the time the CL resumes.

The CL could be a bit or a farce. I was reading that they plan to play the quarters, semis and final over the space of a week in one leg ties, in August.

That’s not too bad an idea, to be fair, as it will be played on neutral venues so more like an international tournament. However, with the transfer window potentially being opening at that time there could be new signings allowed to play in these UEFA competitions.

Is Saul leaving Atletico?

He said he’s going to announce a new club in 3 days and he’s removed Atletico from him Twitter bio/picture.

Maybe it’s e-sports related?

Seems a strange way to announce you’re leaving if it is genuine.
