Didn't deserve that and other sides will take their chances. Badly need to sort things out. But let's just take the win!
I hope all games are not like this. Great to get the win but the tension is too much
Well we had some bad luck last season apart from Newcastle down here, but tonight has evened that out
21 shots they had this is not good. Scraped through, bit of a worry.
We win. 3 points

Mo Farrah wins 10,000 metres World Title
That was a bit nervy towards the end. Thought Forest had blown it with that equaliser. Took a while for the ref to disallow it. Made the steward's and police's job quite difficult as the Millwall celebrations were in full flow! Much gesticulating and waving of daft caps in their end!
Very fortunate win for the Reds. The Cofkneys missed some of the easiest chances I have seen Forest concede for a while. Smith was encouraged to play it out from the back. Murphy didn't really give him an alternative option as he hardly won a ball upfront and looked very rusty.
McKay looks like he will have the beating of many a defender in this league. Got some demon pace on him and the Forest forwards struggled to get up in support when he eat his man down the left. Cracking strike for his first goal. Was right behind it and it bent back in to the goal off the near post after initially looking like it might just creep wide.
Forest looked a little lightweight with Clough and Osborn in midfield. Think they will need a bit more muscle at times as Millwall won far too much in the middle of the park.
A draw would have been a fair result and had Millwall not suddenly gone route one later on, they may have got one. They had some space out wide but decided to start lobbing it in from deep which was a lot easier to defend against for Mills, Worrall and Mancienne.
A draw Will.
I think 1-4 would have been a fair result. As I suggested this morning on another thread our midfield is too lightweight. McKay and Dowell looked quality but with Osborn and Clough alongside them we don't have enough muscle; we need a dog or two in there.
Gave the ball away too easily too often and couldn't win it back. First half we played as if it was another pre=season friendly. Still we have the points and I'm sure MW knows what needs to be done, and we will improve.
Warburton, much like when Hart was here, is a big an of playing out from the back. Smith put himself in a few tough positions by trying to throw the ball out to the full backs too quickly. Millwall worked this tactic out (probably scouted the pre season friendlies) and blocked off his outlets quite effectively.
He made a great save in the second half in a one on one. I just hope people are patient with him as he develops as he has a lot of plus points.

Yes, they were too lightweight and couldn't snap into tackles. Thought it was a good move bringing Cohen and Mills on as Millwall stopped playing and started hoofing.
Just got back.
In summary a great game for the neutral for the opening game. However that has to be one of the luckiest wins I have ever seen from Forest in my time supporting them.
Millwall were the better side and for not some great saving by smith (even though he tried to give them a chance as well) and a great goal by McKay ( who was the best player tonight with maybe the new RB), we should have lost the game.
However I will take the three points and move on but lessons need to be learned quickly!
I don't think Warburton can start with such a lightweight midfield again. Credit Millwall with getting stuck in and disrupting what Forest were trying to do. You can forgive a little nerves, maybe. Clough and Osborn retired a few things which didn't come off but in another day, they cut a team to shreds.
Vellios must be wondering what Murphy did to get the starting role tonight! He huffed and puffed about to little effect as he clearly hasn't had a pre-season. I thought Vellios was poorly treated last season when a half fit Assombalonga was often started ahead of him. Surely he will get a game in the League Cup?
Agree Will.
No manager so far for the reds seems to rate him though regardless of the effort and goals he contributes.
I said, when canaggia told us the line-up, the midfield was too lightweight, and so it proved.
It would work when teams line up against us that don't have a midfield to speak of, but when facing a team like Millwall and their midfield, we were only going to come off second best.
OK, we got away with it, but only for Millwall's abysmal finishing...
Still, top of the league...😁
