That's funny, because another guy close to Barcelona just last week said that they can't afford them both.

Would love him to stay and give his all as Suarez did and then go without tarnishing his reputation with us fans.

However, if Klopp wants him gone, then gone he must be imo.

The difference with Coutinho and Suarez is that (allegedly) Gerrard sat down with Suarez and said give us one more season, play out of our skin and you'll get a move to Barca or Real.

Coutinho already has an offer from Barca. I really doubt we'd have kept Suarez or kept him happy if you'd rejected Barca. No offence intended but Arsenal is a different proposition entirely.

As soon as the transfer request went in then I supported him leaving. If Klopp wants him gone it only goes to reinforce my belief that he should go.

One thing is for sure, we need at least one midfielder if he goes. I was ok with us not signing one after missing out on Keita but we certainly can't afford to lose a midfield option.

But if Klopp wants him gone then sell him, a sour relationship won't help the squad and any sort of contention between the two will only be highlighted especially if we were to lose a game and say Cout was subbed off or something.

This

It's a very dangerous game for the owners to disregard Klopps wishes. We could end up losing a very good manager.

Wasn't Klopp going to resign if we did sell Coutinho 2 weeks agoHard to blame the owners for going against his wishes when his wishes completely change every 2 seconds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

2 weeks ago Coutinho was saying he was happy to stay at Liverpool and not make a fuss.

Now he's handed in a transfer request and is clearly agitating for a move.

I'd say the situation has moved on, wouldn't you?

Klopp said Coutinho isn't for sale. Klopp is a funny guy, he wouldn't joke about that....would he?

Swear Arouna's written more comments, usually the same one, about the sale of Coutinho than he has about any of the players Everton have signed this summer.

But still not even a fraction of the comments he's made about Borini

They are all terrible and overpriced signings.

I would say that 'the situation' has hit a brick wall in the form of FSG. They are not going to sell, they cannot afford to unless they were ready to seek the entire club and fekof, and I don think that's going to happen.

Philippe either continues to refuse to play, putting his international career n jeapordy, or he buckles down stays and plays.

His call.

#FCB sporting director Robert Fernandez asked about Coutinho and Dembele: "There's no buyout clauses, so that makes things more difficult"

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has attempted to clarify the situation, suggesting the confusion has stemmed from an incorrect translation.

“When last night Pep Segura was talking about ‘deal is close’ I am pretty sure he meant only Dembele," Balague tweeted.

Barcelona's general manager had claimed they were close to signing Philippe Coutinho.

“Segura knows Liverpool haven’t moved an inch their position on Coutinho. They are not selling.

“Despite the insistence of Catalan press about meetings this week, nothing is planned between Liverpool and Barcelona.

“He mentions Coutinho and Dembele but one thing is lost in translation.

"He is trying to say club want/negotiating for both. But he knows LFC are not selling at the minute.”
