By the way, just because you, some Spanish bird and Rafa Benitez prefer doesn't mean the majority do, most people prefer nice weather
===========================================================
My apologies, I was assuming you would accept that as a sample, demonstrating that not everybody thinks the same as you do, rather than as an exhaustive survey.

I haven't done an exhaustive survey, I'm afraid. There's over 100,000 Spaniards living in the UK, so I can't be @rsed, frankly.
I was out with a few of them last night, as it happens.
I see them regularly, and I can't remember the last time they mentioned the fvcking climate.

Unlike on here, where every time a Spanish club puts in a transfer offer, there's about 10 posts a day saying "Oh, bigger club and climate. He's off".
If climate weighs so heavily on your existence, my suggestion would be to go and live there, as opposed to staying here and moaning about the climate (which doesn't sound very rewarding, tbh).

I lived there for a couple of years. It was ok, I liked it, and for you it would be like dying and going to heaven, I would guess, so I do recommend it, for somebody like yourself.

==========================================================

Every day, somebody always mentions the fvcking climate when the subject of transfers comes up.

I’ve lived in Spain, and had a nice job there, but tbh I got a bit sick of the climate. It’s getting hotter every year there now, southern Spain is like living in an oven, and it’s creeping northwards.

The UK, meanwhile, is also warming up, and is getting to the point where the climate is quite pleasant. I left Spain, in the end, because I got a chance to do something new and more rewarding in the UK. The climate didn’t weigh heavily on my decision, I really didn’t give a monkey’s about it.

Btw, one of my best friends in the UK is a Spanish girl. She loves it here, and has no plans to go back.
Rafa Benitez prefers living here, too...so much so that he’s brought his in-laws to live over here.

By all means keep telling us every day that Barca is a bigger club, and hoping that it upsets us, but give it a rest with the fvcking climate.

Very well put and I agree. It's a wonder any player signs here according to Michael fulkin Fish.

Not sure they will be back with another offer. Understanding was that they were going to try a third offer which we've rejected today - then it'll surely be time for them to look at alternatives? Why wait another week just for us to reject again? They've then wasted even more time in trying to sign a Neymar replacement. I think they'll try the Dembele avenue again then move on to someone new completely.

Massive pressure too as Suarez is injured for a month. That formidable front three is now down to one in the space of a fortnight!

Most people would say Barca are desperate to offer 114 million for Coutinho, which they are based on Neymar leaving and their performances recently.

Liverpool are in a hard position because its late in the transfer window, and they have told fans they won't sell him, feels a little bit like biting your nose off to spite your face.

Have to feel a little sorry for the player. No offence to Liverpool but Barcelona are a much bigger club, with a far better chance of silverware, play in a bigger stadium, in a nicer city, with a better climate.

Most people would be annoyed having to stay when a very generous offer has come in.

Sometimes its just the right thing to sell the player, United had to do it with Ronaldo. Thank them for their performances and the profit they have made for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You kept De Gea though and now he appears to be happy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did he hand in a transfer request?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He didn't have to, United accepted the bid and then blamed a dodgy fax machine when it didn't go through.

Making him the worlds highest paid goalkeeper probably helped somewhat

Well no. The transfer window had closed after the fax machine stunt.

I also genuinely don't believe Madrid would pay de gea what we pay him. I don't think they value gks that highly to put them in the top earner bracket these days.

Ok, so he didn't hand in a transfer request... there was never a fallout with the club.

So a different situation.

A lot of people would take Navas before De Gea after his form over the last year, so I think Madrid just lost interest.

They came knocking the season before, we persuaded to get another season out of him and then Sir Alex sold him early on in the transfer window.

Difference is that Coutinho knows they won't come back for him the season after so this is his only chance.

I'm impressed the club has stood firm considering the absolute stupid money. All fans can agree Coutinho is not worth the money offered. Nobody in reality is!

I'd be getting to the stage where I'd take the money, as long as you get a guarantee you can spend it all on transfers. Sell Countinho, buy Keita or whatever, you can't win less by doing it can you?

It has taken a few years since we last sold our best player to get in a position of challenging for trophies. Why would we want to go back to square one?

You mean that Keita that isn't for sale at any price who we have been chasing all summer. Look at this window. Clubs aren't selling their big players! They don't need the money in this climate. This isn't football manager where you can throw money and clubs will accept.

Fact is we sell Couthino now and we get a lot of money (which we don't need) but we severely weaken the team for the next season. Even rival fans can admit we are much better with Coutinho in our team... Although the BS of him being average has me thinking otherwise.

Tell me if I am wrong, but I have always been under the impression that Suarez was kept for an extra 12 months with the club promising that after the 12 months he could go to Barcelona?

posted on 19/8/17

Barca would have had a better chance if

A) they didnt leave it so late in the window
B) actually made a concrete offer we couldn't refuse

They did neither and keep messing about with 72m upfront unrealistic addons despite having 200m in cash from Neymar.

I guess they weren't convinced Neymar would leave :/, but even still they are messing about if they were serious they would tempt the owners with 130m cash instead of 80m upfront 35m if he wins the ballon etc. I think 130m cash would still have high chance of being rejected but not instantly or within 30-40 mins

Or maybe you just need to grasp the fact that you live in a capitalist society, where your worth is mainly influenced by the market worth. Morons who constantly compare current transfer fees to past transfer fees are just being ignorant. It's completely irrelevant, in a market where Sky are paying 5Billion for the premier league tv rights, which is only going to go up as competition to outbid Sky from Tech companies such as Amazon inevitably comes in, where clubs such as Real Madrid and United are turning over 600m a year in revenue, and clubs like City and PSG have multi billionaires and countries backing them. When you start comparing transfer fees to the actual money in the game, it becomes far less astonishing, but simple minds do as simple minds do, and the most obvious compareable numbers are past fees, even though today's market has completely evolved into a new playground

Got Fu king Houdini over here.

Ya don't say, if they offer Liverpool an offer they can't refuse they'd have a better chance. Someone contact a Barcelona representative, they need to get an expert over there!! What next? If you wipe your ar s é after you crap, the crap disappears??

That's is what I said few days ago saying sick of Barca trying to keep taking our players on the cheap by unsettling them. At least with Southampton people can see on the while we paid them more than market rate. I mean look at Lovren you could argue we overpaid by 12 mil.

Barca are not even paying the so called upfront cash all upfront ffs. I use to like them but am glad real are thumping them. At least real cough up.
