bloodred, exactly my thought. We've seen more evidence that he's not this world class finisher people thought than evidence he is.

I prefer Martial.

Rashford does have possibilities, but it is not just his finishing that is concerning.

Seriously think his development would be better facilitated outside of the first team. A season in the reserves, or at a championship club, would benefit all parties. The same is true of Martial.

Rashford, at the moment, looks no better than welbeck and that does not bode well. Indeed, Hernandez was a better prospect at the same stage - and still is

He'll be a superstar when he's 24. I bet you lot were bitching about Ronaldo in his first season or two here

He's got the talent, but superstar...we'll have to wait and. see about that.

It's hilarious how people are blaming Rashford getting game time as an excuse for his lack of composure in front of goal

You do know official matches probably only make up about 5% of a player's time kicking a football per week right...If Rashford's finishing isn't improving it's because he's either not working on it enough in training, or he's just not as naturally gifted in that department as we'd hope.

You don't see Martial's finishing going to 5hit since being played out wide

You do realize finishing off chances in training is not the same as putting chances away in front of 75000+ fans right?

Martial started his career as a wide player and so this a role he has always been comfortable with... Rashford (imo) has been shoe-horned into that wide role and thus hasn't developed as a goalscorer in the manner we'd have liked...

Rashford isn't missing sitters because he's playing wide.

He lacks composure but should get better with age.

Martial appears to have ice in his veins

He wasn't a world class finisher in the U18s, nor was he for the Reserves. He wasn't even a centreforward.

Not sure why anyone should be remotely surprised that at 19 years old his finishing isn't world class.

At 19, Ronaldo was playing on the wing, and his finishing was wildly inconsistent.

At 19, Zlatan was playing on the wing, and his finishing was wildly inconsistent.

He's a kid ffs. That's what they do. The potential with Rashford is huge, but it'll take time. Lukaku has five years on him and is still improving year-on-year. Have some patience.

He will never (re)-acquire this ability playing as winger!
_____________

I've never really understood this view. People used to say the same about Welbeck playing out wide. But if a player is getting chances, and missing them, whilst playing out wide then why would you move them to the centre?

Do you reward poor finishing by moving the culprit to centre forward? Players like Henry and Ronaldo started wide and then moved more central because their finishing was outstanding - not because they needed the practice! Save that for the training ground...

Aye, that and what Rosso said.

Fuchkarada... the kids 19 years old, an academy lad learning his trade on the biggest stage in the world.

He's electrifying at times, let him develop without expecting him to be Gerd Muller in front of goal.
