Greatteams, I am firmly of the belief - I accept I have no evidence - that pressure was brought to bear on him to submit the transfer request. Certainly, with the worm apparently turned, the Coutinho 'family(?) are now saying that pressure was indeed brought to bear.
And that brings me back to a view I've expressed before: Barca started their usual policy of deciding and then expecting clubs to fall over in agreement, the press join in, 'friends' (no quote from him)say he wants an amicable transfer.
But he doesn't want to go,or not go yet. Just look at his comments on the signing of his contract in January.
So, quietly, he actually turns to FSG for help. And they willingly oblige with the fekoff reply to Barca. That's allowed him to say,'well,I did ask, but they .... it's not my fault'.
If you accept that, then the jump and the transfer e-mail don't equate.
I accept, I don't have the evidence, but I suspect that may we'll be the case.
