easy group which we can qualify from... like last year's which we totally facked up.
if we get through that then we can face the bigger sides.
as with any cup draw, you want the easiest draw possible to maximise the chance of progress...
drawing barca etc means that there is probably only 1 qualification space in the group, not 2, therefore makes little sense from a spurs fan point of view
Would have been happy with whoever were we still at WHL. Now at Wembley I'd rather avoid the big boys just until we can hopefully get some rhythm and form going at the place.
Being in pot 3 the 4 nightmare draws would include R Madrid and PSG or Bayern Munich with either Barcelona, Atletico Madrid or PSG.
Pot 2 is the strongest group of teams by far
Shakhtar Donetsk
Porto
Tottenham
Celtic
The easiest group possible.

Just as much chance of getting an easy group as a hard group, half the clubs in Pot 1 aren't all that great.
Avoid Juventus, Real and Bayern from pot 1 and you should qualify regardless of who else is drawn.

You pot 3? If we qualify it will be the same for us. Could be savage, could be ok. Imagine:
Real Madrid
PSG
Spurs
Roma

Celtic certainly aren't the easiest in pot 4.

Yes agree with this. Playing the European giants is much better in a knockout game where it really means something (chance to progress to semi/final).
From a strategic point of view for Spurs and Liverpool i think Real Madrid would be a good first draw. Rules out getting the Spanish teams in pot 2 plus obviously no English teams. Other than PSG the rest are beatable.
We are going to have an extremely difficult group but its a good thing. Rather we get tested early and not waste our time

by this logic there is no point in qualifying, as we have no chance of winning it... therefore are wasting our time?
Benfica
Dortmund or Atleti
Spurs
?
Have to have a glamour tie in there, but not one where we might get taken to the cleaners. Getting Barca would mean I finally get to watch Messi play live though

For Spurs, the best possible draw would be: Spartak Moscow, Porto, Tottenham, Maribor.
The worst possible draw would be: Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham, Leipzig
