Ozil and Ramsey both excellent tonight,as always. This also happened with Arshavin, around the time the baying mob on here were calling him lazy etc as well! For his country he was stunning.
Playing great players out of position and with bad tactics will have this effect.
It's not rocket science, but dumb fans will blame the player every time.
If you put Lewis Hamilton is a Citroen C5, see how many races he wins! Doesn't mean he has forgotten how to drive though, does it?

nger. PLayers like Ramsey and Ozil dont become bad whe they play for us, they do a job in a team and position they have been asked to do. Ramsey is a good player, contrary to popular belief. He is just being used badly and fans expect too much from him. I dont often saythat about a player but he is expected to stay back and defend and help the attack.. Whenever he does the job he is given and less of the other he gets stick for not doing enough. He is a utility player that can help out all over the pitch and I think at one time or another has played every position for Arsenal except CB and CF.

If Wenger set up a team to use players in their strongest position and formation that works well for all the players in the team we would be title winners. But instead he sets up the team in formations that he likes, shoehorns players into it in unnatural roles and gets away with it because fans who dont know any better blame the players. Everyone loses.

This is pretty fair, although Ramsey doesn't do himself any favours when he does stuff like he did against Liverpool for whichever goal it was when he was halfway across the pitch looking the wrong way..
Spot on
Just look at the set up of the team this season. Bellerin playing left back / left wing. Playing Ox just before selling him to Liverpool, benching your record signing laughable. Wenger doesn't seem to have a clue any more and I think the players no longer have any faith in him

The problem for me is that Wenger believes too much in the Cruyff's philosophy of total football without understanding that total football is also about discipline and a knowledge of positioning. Pep was very critical of Cesc. You could see that in Walcott, Oxo, Ramsey, Bellerin, Gibbs. All our younger players who have grown up under Wenger suffer from this. Sometimes this is a positive in strikers. But for midfield players and especially defenders it is a terrible deficiency.

Which is why I so wanted Allegri at Arsenal. We need that desperately in the team and instilled in players.
