I drove to Italy via Germany a few weeks back using le tunnel and it was brilliant, totally hassle free and you're in your own bubble the whole way, no airport nonsense, cramped plane seats with knees around ears or other passengers farts.

Used to do it when skiing in Switzerland but it's a long haul. Just get train down into London now, stop at our place there and Eurostar it the next morning for the likes of France or Belgium. So much more relaxed.

On a more serious note, anyone seen the videos and photos coming out of Spain with the referendum?

Sickening.

Yep. N@zi salutes and Franco chants.

The Spanish authorities absolutely keichin their drawers, and I fully expect them to get nasty too.

It's getting worse with rubber bullets being fired and women and children getting caught up in the police vans driving through barricades and clubbing anything in their path.

Look, it's illegal. We all get that and it shouldn't therefore be happening. But why not just quietly police it, let everyone have their vote and then just declare it as being inconsequential and irrelevant as it's against the law of their land?

This way the Catalans will just garner support from many parts of Spain and elsewhere. Ridiculous decision to send in riot police like that.

Hardly makes for a democracy does it?

There were apparently loads of anti independence types still wanting the right to vote on it so it would at least be democratic.

This just shows how shaky the Spanish government's grip on a united Spain is.

Eh?

Spain as a country democratically voted for the Cataloniana not to have an independence vote.

It's illegal. Voted illegal by the people of Spain of which Catalonia is a region.

Spanish government have mishandled it, should have let them have their vote but made it very clear it's in no way binding, the vote might have even gone against independence like ours did, sending in the guarda civil a major error.

Surely if Catalonia want a vote let them do it?

Why not?

The tactics on show don't really make it look like a democracy.

It is 100% illegal but the police have certainly been heavy handed by the looks of things and from what I gather the police actions are in conflict to what the government have told them which is so typical of Spanish police
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Agreed.

Should just have left them to it and declared it illegal after the event.

Apparently it's because he's a player for the future and there are no expectations, despite the cash splashed out on him.

Saw the Gordon Waddell headline and scanned the first couple of paragraphs and sure enough he's just taking over from his tag team partner Keith and is drumming out the exact same scheidt, regardless of how much any of it has been explained.

Therein lies your issue, comparing Pedro to Brendan.

You're biting to their bait 'aye but Brendan gets away with it'...

Celtic are unbeaten in 58 games, Pedro is 1 game unbeaten, its not like for like.

'I noticed a few weeks ago Brendan Rodgers saying Ntcham could play for Real Madrid or Barcelona'

He didn't actually, but I think this is part of the issue, where people are seeing what they want to see.

Take the link Esc has provided. If anything, it's actually more critical of the actions of Scottish players than it is of Pedro.

I said the other day that I haven't bought or read a newspaper in years. I read some of the links on here and elsewhere, but I haven't seen any outlandish personal attack on Pedro. I asked for any links to see what basis folk are using to form this opinion, but haven't seen any.

As for the OP, if you want to feel that your team should be held in the same regard as Motherwell, St Johnstone or anyone else then that's fair enough. These teams are average teams because their expectations are lower than Celtic and Rangers, and they expect and accept lower standards. I'm happy for you to gauge your manager and team against their results.
